How about that the freedom of speech is guaranteed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

    Article 19.
Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Of course, this is holding opinions - when I present something as a fact, when it is in fact false, that's not protected. But whenever I start a sentence by "I think, that...." it is just an opinion, and should be fine, whatever I say... At least I think....

Hmm. I'm not convinced. What about VoIP? I *like* my low-latency reliable VoIP, and I like the fact that my ISP is able to prioritize it over bulk traffic like BT. Ditto small HTTP traffic bursts, DNS requests, etc.

One solution would be per-user bandwidth allocation - as it has been on the proposed list for ages now... Then all you have to do, is you yourself decide not to run BT when you are making a VoIP call... How hard is that? Yours is the responsibility and yours is the power to decide what is important for you, and not the ISP, which has no business whatsoever, deciding your preferences for you...

Nevertheless, I'm all for more Linux-using Taiwanese housewives ;) --- it's quite a few fantasy in a single package, totally sweet.... :))

Why can't a radio station be charged with "making available? Hell, anyone can pull out a tape recorder. OMG, I hummed a song earlier today! What if someone heard me and downloaded music because of it. Can they charge me?? And the scary part is, that it's no joke.... Not at all. If you can play the radio too loud, and liable for infringement, even when you are on the side of law, that's no good... So next time you are humming on the street... check your wallet beforehand for that $150.000 per song...

So, if you mean by "graphics" that they are good at difficult geometrical calculations (like in games, for example), than you are right.... because that's what it is, truck-load of geometry...

    From Wikipedia:
Tomography: "[...] Digital geometry processing is used to generate a three-dimensional image of the inside of an object from a large series of two-dimensional X-ray images taken around a single axis of rotation."

Lastly, The Japanese government has produced an introductory video on the new scheme that you really have to see to believe. That's a really awful PR video, with fade-in/fade-out list of terrorist attacks since 9-11, of course with the towers (on fire) in the background...

When they cut to Tokyo, I was really thinking when will a rampaging, terrorizing Godzilla appear??? Oh, yeah, Godzilla is Japanese, so no need for fingerprinting....

Other than that: were there no terrorists before 2001? Somehow every country just seem to make it harder and harder for people to travel - now that it would be possible for more people than ever in human history....
