i will start off by saying that i am *very* heavily sold on the unix platform. the past two IT shops i have worked at have run exchange mail servers, and i have noticed minimal problems during this time. i would go as far as to say that exchange is a good enterprise email system, better than sendmail without question. standardizing on outlook seems a bit silly, as it is not ported to any free operating systems, but exchange is not limited to that protocol. it talks imap and pop just fine.
if i were running mail on unix servers, my choice would definately be qmail over sendmail. i'm not fond of sendmail at all.
I've been participating in a similar distributed computing project called Folderol. The graphics aren't as pretty, but they seem to be using a genetic algorithm of some sort.
From what I have read of the Homecoming series (The Memory of Earth), I have determined that it is simply a paralell of the Book of Mormon in a futuristic setting. It startled me, formerly being a Mormon, and not expecting such a theme.
i use a microsoft natural elite (the kind you can get from dell) at work, and i'm extremely pleased with it. much better than the dell comfort keyboard...
Lenovo isn't getting System P hardware. They're only getting System X, which is the x86 stuff.
about all they can do now is give away their OS for free...

i run blackbox on old, slow computers. the cde-like interface of XFce is totally unappealing as well...

i've used 3 different types of cybex switches... they all work wonderfully.. and the modular stuff with the autoboot commander is quite impressive.

Now all we need is a distributed.net port to this thing that transfers blocks when you sync....
