    Low budget filmmaking is no more expensive in HD than SD.
    HD cameras and equipment are available to most filmmakers currently using SD.
    HD Digital cinemas are not just exotic rarities.

    Lots of material is currently being gathered in HD and dropped down, particularly sport.

    An HDMI enabled video card is *exactly* what some have been waiting for. Now we can preview our work on a TV screen, which has a different colour space to computer monitors.

    So, in summary, quit yer bitchin' cos you're talking out yer arse

    The Indians I know in India are nothing like deeply religious.

    Though, to be fair, there's no real thing as one true Hindu way, anyone can preach pretty much what they like. It's the most pluralist religion I've come across.

    India is a crazy place, police corruption at street level is a way of life, along with filth and shoddy manufacturing.

    My friend has a CS degree from the local university. He is fully fluent in Java and VB. He had to do C++ and Haskell for course points but knows little about either. He's *not* a computer scientist by any stretch of the imagination.

    So it's probably a good thing.

    IT is so pervasive that the CS degree should fragment to suit the new world. My friend wouldn't stand a chance in front of an xterm, he's not even interested. To him, it's not a vocation, just a job (and fair enough).

    Yeah, I remember when the MegaDrive came out, we all stopped playing 16colour CGA games for a while until we could have 640x480x256.
    I got RAC Rally with my first 386, that's Colin McRea's Rally Version 0.

    And Sentinel, anyone know where I can find the abandonware of that.

    as far as I can tell it's all down the the scheduler.

    The guys at Bell Labs were pleasantly surprised to find that adding hard timing limits to plan9 was quite painless.

    As they were desiged from the outset to be distributed plan9 / inferno would make ideal handset OSes.

    Never gonna happen. We're stuck with Symbian and WinCE for a while yet.

    I meant the RT part, it's the same codebase.
    I'm pretty sure that Windows Mobile doesn't share much source code with Vista.

    Whereas I know that plan9 and plan9 RT are virtually the same. I watched Sape Mullender do a talk on it.

    lol, you are amusing.

    How did you evaluated all the other alternatives, for instance Inferno or Plan 9 ?

    Lucent use RT plan9 in their Cellphone base stations so I'm pretty sure it can cope with being on a handset.

    How did the two comapre to Lunix ?

    If you want people to contact you, you should provide the contact details properly and suck up the spam yourself.

    Choose a non-default email i.e. not webmaster but web-master and deal with the consequences.

    In my eyes, a customer/client/new friend not being able to contact you is far more expensive than dealing with some *more* spam.

    There's more than one binary encoding, hence the plural. You just filtered yourself into 0.

    Damn, I was about to quote Herman Rauschning to you but I see his book has been declared fraudulent since I read it.

    Anyway he claimed, perhaps falsely, that one of Hitler's approaches was to talk peace & treaty with neighbours over common geopolitical goals in order to stop them meddling, until it was prudent to turn on them.

    That's partly why the Jews and Gypsies were chosen, because they were intra-state collectives and "dealing" with them is something European government has been doing for ever, be it Auswitch or planning directives.

    It's called the LAN.
    I turn on the WiFi and my phone is part of the internet.
    It serves it's flash/ram/rom/sd via the 9p protocol.
    My terminal can boot from it, if I wanted it to, yours could to if you were in my authentication server.
    I can store encrypted data on it useless without TCP access the dock.
