Hyper nothing. The Uk is for fact a Semi-fascist state. The Uk has been for a long time. The amount of Public cameras, and the amount of media blackouts, road blocks? no fifth amendment. the UK and England to be more accurate was one the first countries (pre-9/11) to sacrifice privacy for "security". The original post was about the fact that, Most of the world doesn't have a problem with liberty. just the Anglophiles, their descendent's of repression, and their hypocritical spawn. And he was right.

When I can watch a show online, why bother waiting for our networks to dub it? Yes, I "have to" watch it in English, but then again, usually that's the better version anyway. Anyone who has ever watched The Simpsons in German will agree. Surely there are Germans who can't speak English that wouldn't agree ?
No, actually the simpsons really is better in English, the Germans who watch it in German often don't get the jokes cause they are translated poorly, things Americans laugh at when told in English are funny and when translated are just kinda dumb. But the bigger reason is the Simpsons is humor based on American culture, innuendos, situational contrast, ect. For example Americans find the character of Ned Flanders to be funny because they can identify with a conservative fundamentalist being in the given situation, when your culture is devoid (or nearly) of Neds, well you just have a clown with no makeup on. And yes there is a market for dubbed shows, it's much smaller than the native language market, and the reason is, dubs are just not that good.

Manny of us are saying... "wait, this bill barely mentions the internet..." but the first thing I noticed was the vote. 404 to 6. the few times I recall the house being so together on something it was like whether to give themselves a raise, or to pass the HomeLand inSecurity bill, or whether or not to pardon the Thanksgiving Turkey. The House is, to borrow some words from Robert Heinlein, a bunch of Yammerheads. what I'm curious about is, who told them to think this up? but heres what the overwhelming majority put to paper

Directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to: (1) establish a grant program to prevent radicalization (use of an extremist belief system for facilitating ideologically-based violence) and homegrown terrorism in the United States; (2) establish or designate a university-based Center of Excellence for the Study of Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism in the United States; and (3) conduct a survey of methodologies implemented by foreign nations to prevent radicalization and homegrown terrorism.
I see (1)a grant system ie. a bucket of monnie to throw around. (2)Dhuu, we dumb, guss go to skool twy to learn. or is this a case of better get the frat boys in on this pork? (3)yep, mom always said if you don't know which fork to use watch your neighbor. when was the last time you talked to your Yammerhead? did you tell them what they should be doing in congress? oh wait, you're just a /. member not a lobbiest.

uh, read through some of the Wiki, wondering if you could help out with supporting evidence, or references.

OBTW. Time magazine this week ran a historical piece about Jefferson VS Adams for the 1800 Presidential campain.(Time magazine November 12, 2007, p.121) the article is mostly about how claiming faith can affect the campaign. But I interpret the faith of our fathers, to be a moot point. history being non objective.
