    1. Simple. We are better than you and will crush you if you try to come in our way.

    2. We thought Kerberos sounded cool, that's what we've always called the fat guy in tech support. We didn't really care if we were using it properly or not. Remember that we use the term "innovation". LOL, as if that had anything to do with our products.

    3. We have absolutely no idea what a trade secret is. We have this one programmer who actually knows what he's doing (he's the one who wrote notepad and internet connection sharing) and he said trade secret before, so we used it.

    4. Microsoft is slowly killing those that use this top secret information outside of the program that protects this top secret information.

    5. We hadn't thought of that. That's a pretty good question.

    6. People that use Linux are bad. Do you know how much time we had to waste on actually advancing our software because of stupid Linus Torvalds. Ooh, I'm going to write a revolutionary OS shell and distribute it freely to the world. So, pretty much, we don't really know. We just know that you guys like Linux and Linux is bad.

    7. HAHA. Incompatibility. What do you think the point of our software is?! Haven't you read some of our marketing. It's a bunch of crap. We trick stupid people into buying the software by creating really neat names for our new stuff then pretending that it's revolutionary. Hence "innovation". All we do is turn "Make new connection" into "Dial-up Wizard" and BAM, we have more money.

    8. Because, frankly, Bill's at a hard time in his life. Have you ever seen the hate sites about him? He lost like 17 billion dollars for crying out loud. Can't you just be nice to him and not criticize his precious software. Innovation is Bill's life, it's not the money, it's making users happy. Sorry, I'm going to cry.

I remember when there was the whole censorship going on about yahoo - if you moderate messages, you have responsibility for all messages posted on the server. The thing I'm wondering is if Slashdot complies, how much more will they have to clean up, and if they're forced to remove certain messages, will that mean that the same thing still applies? I think Microsoft should just relax and let people say/post what they feel. It would be much better for PR

  10. Re:Palm's successes on Hands-On Review of PocketPC · · Score: 1

I think the way Palm rates battery life is very good. There is a big difference between the two handhelds. The main aim of Palm organizers are just to provide quick data entry, etc. If you did two identical tasks with each handheld, the CE device would take longer, say twice as long for a quick data entry. CE includes an mp3 player, WMP, etc, etc. ie, you'll want to leave the device on longer, meaning that it should be rated in time used, because you'll leave it on more (a good thing?), whereas it wouldn't make sense for Palm to say 8 hours because you'd never realize it. I charge mine every week and a half. What MS needs to add is how long it takes to CHARGE the battery.

Pretty much Microsoft has the edge in included programs. Wow. You can get these free on the internet on the Palm, quickly. How hard is it to get a 2k program? This is the problem. There are a lot of stupid people in this "easy hand-held" market. Point is, Palm is assumed to be overly technical, Microsoft is going to advertise this with deceipt, and vagueness that makes even the best of us assume that this is better. Hmm, what would be some qualifications? Basic knowledge in computers for a CS course, 4 years of Spanish for a foreign language course, ??? I go to an international school in the Bahamas, and over 50% of the students are black, and yet most are getting accepted left right and center with scholarships, same as the white kids in our school. If there's a checkbox on the SAT that says that I can sign up for the Swiss-German-American-Bahamian special financial assistance program, then I'd tick it, but there isn't. Odd how there is one for "African-Americans'. If you think that you are so "underprivaledged" that you can't learn basic mathematic or verbal skills, then I feel sorry for you. So I can make copies with a standalone music copier, onto cassette and the rest, but I cannot rip the wav and then write in onto another CD. Do they not realize that the only difference is in whether the transfer is done by software or hardware. In my opinion, it's easier for people to use analog means that by using software, and should be easier to create multiple copies. It seems like there is a lot of prejudice towards computers when it comes to music. Or just stupidity. There is no difference if I copy a CD on the computer, or on the device to copy CDs, they're still copies. I think they're all mad at us for the mp3 thing, and figure that computers are evil devices bent on squashing the good of the artists. Either way, it's dumb.

Not saying that that's tremendously important as for usefulness, but there are a lot of stupid people that like the "easy to use" (low functionality) products that Microsoft produces, and until Linux users can convince them otherwise, like create a viable alternative for MS Windows (StarOffice is almost there), make a new streaming codec and distribute it to all OSes, or make a better browser than Netscape (which is going to die anyway, and Mozilla can't handle JavaScript for it's life). I don't like the philosophy that the Windows programs have to be ported to Linux, I think it would be great if there was a truly great advancement started on the Linux platform, and it would help to further Linux a lot. We're all frigging the same, we have different abilities. If men were supposed to be the ones that were all caring and crap, then they would have the babies, and don't ever treat child-rearing like some type of crap curse put on women, because it's a frigging gift and all these women think that it's not. Let me tell you something, you prejudiced loser. Where I live, there are only 15% white and 80+% black. I'm the frigging minority. But there is absolutely no racism in my country, women don't HAVE to work, they are happy for the gift of patience, and care. I live in the Bahamas, where everyone gets paid exactly what they're worth, and if you're going to tell me that it's because it's "different", then you should start to think about how much the stereotype formed by politically correct Americans affect your judgement.
