Oh Please... Alright, I'll accept that Slashdot is a lumbering internet beast for a moment... but this site wasn't slashdotted. Yeah, that's right...it's all there and working fine.
A few posts above, someone noted that if you take the "sworde.htm" out of the link, it works with no problems. "What's that?" you say.. "experiemnt?" Just like a newbie, you try the obvious, it doesn't work, then you complain that the whole thing's broken and go into a rant about how nothing works, or in this case, about how Slashdot is a DOS attack waiting to pounce upon unsuspecting websites.
The site is fine... it hasn't been slashdotted... and for those of you who are deriding the guy who did the Leg(o) work... seems like a bit of jealousy to me.
Pardon me for sayin' so, but if you're using a Beta version of an OS for "mission-critical servers" then you're smokin' better crack than I am. Either that or I deserve your job more than you do.:o)
My favorite thing about SMIT was that you can hit F6 at any point and it will show you the precise command line used to effect whatever change you are trying to make. In fact, I learned a lot of tremendously useful stuff. If only linuxconf could do the same... Mr.Moonlight
The code for dsh on the IBM Sp systems (like Big Blue f'rinstance) is all Perl. Towards the middle there is a rouitine that searches for child processes called "watch_for_kids." The routine that kills the resulting processes is called "infanticide." The code is copyright IBM.:o)

sure it sounds like flamebait, but I'm right!
