They haven't lacked the will. Are you saying that Issa wouldn't do it tomorrow if he could? It's that Democrats and the media, so far are unwilling to cast blame for any of the various scandals including this one because the blame lies on their side. They are willing to say how bad it is, and then they shrug their shoulders and do it again with the next one. Contrast with the Bush era when they were too willing to cast blame, even when it was unwarranted.

You just said challenging a result for political or idealogoical reasons is not valid. I'm sorry, but you didn't agree. Did you change your mind? The more frivolous the reasons for challenging, the easier it should be to withstand the scrutiny. A lawsuit says to me that Mann is flailing and feels the attack struck a blow. That gives me less confidence in his method.

We live in a cworld now where the house passes legislation funding the government, and they are accused of being obstructionists. The Senate refuses to fund government and they are treated as saints. The President says he will not negotiate, and it is the house that is portrayed as rigid adherents to ideology. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.

No it's not. The law hadn't been implemented yet. It was most certainly a legitimate budget, if the mandate had even only been delayed like one of the budgets that was passed, we'd be much better off. And until the senate passes it's own budget your whole point is bullshit.

It's hard to say don't reduce everything to one issue, and then limit social issues to abortion and gay marriage. OK, granted, two issues. If we classify social issues as civil rights, I see conservatives as vastly more liberal (in the true sense of the word) than those on the left. Whether it's voting rights, gun rights, labor rights, or educational rights, the left has moved from a liberal position on most of these issues to one that is authoritarian. Such as, "the right to an abortion shall not be restricted, and we're gonna make you pay for them". Or "the right to peaceably assemble gives everyone the right to join a union, so we're gonna make you join one as a condition of employment". Or, "everyone has a right to an education, so we're going to provide you with a shitty one that's insanely expensive, and we won't allow you any alternative". Or, "health care is a right, so we're going to destroy your excellent health insurance, deny you access to our subsidized insurance marketplace and automatically enroll you in Medicaid." That last one is what happened in my case. It's going to take a lot to move me off the "Fuck You" pedestal after that.
