    It doesn't turn it back into the original source. It just makes it barely readable/traceable.

    People want long play and replayability. EA and many others have completely misunderstood and just added a bunch of pointless grinding exercises along with a monetary bypass.

    Have you looked at minified JS lately? It might as well just be bytecode that can be disassembled. It's already no loss in comparison.

    But not by much. Most JavaScript engines now are JIT compilers and introduce a delay only at the beginning before running as fast as bytecode.

    Does anyone else think it is silly that something made in factories is called a "raw material"?

    Would you consider steel to be a raw material? Sure it's a refined output in one sense, but it's absolutely a raw material in another.

    Using an existing iPod touch, you already have a decent DAC. You would need to go the USB DAC route with the pi if you care even a little about audio quality.

    HTTP streaming is a solved problem and iOS was made to run native-like apps. Run mpd remotely on your server and create a basic web interface that streams the audio.

    The problem with old iPods is that older versions of software are made unavailable when a newer version comes out. Even if that newer version is incompatible with old hardware. If you didn't download Plex in time for example, it's probably no longer an option.

    The subsidies applied to the more expensive bulbs too. That's why I bought them. In fact, I have several years' worth and won't need to upgrade to LED for at least 10 more years.

    There was nothing wrong with CFL bulbs, when they were made well and had a good electronic ballast. The subsidy made certain junky brands nearly free and people ignored the more expensive better made bulbs.

    It's a unique pyramid scheme. Once you figure it out, you can cash out and sell your spot in the pyramid. Just don't be the one holding the hot potato at the end.

  22. No one has gotten it right? There are lots of consumer products that at least work with it to some degree. Something is still better than nothing - especially when their reason is to lock it down.

    I mean, there's no reason not to offer a USB port to index files from either.
