    asserts that a society based on freedom and justice can be achieved through abolishing authoritarian institutions that control certain means of production

    In practice, this usually means something pro-corporate or anti-environment. Tell me how that does not disproportionately benefit the elite.

    So when you see a medication that says to apply liberally, you do it for freedom? No, liberal means broad and wide-ranging. As in, not narrow(-minded). Good for you that you found it shares a Latin root, but they are still separate words with separate meanings.

    Yeah, how could he not see the huge flaw in this?

    Not to mention that voiceprinting could pair his voice with his location even without a unique identifier like SIM.

    Liberal means 'pro liberty', more or less, the opposite of (leftist/marxist/socialist/progressive/American 'liberal').

    Liberal means holding a broad worldview and being open to new ideas. It's not about liberty, per se. And that means having your eyes wide open and caring about the freedoms and rights of people other than yourself and not just your own interests.

  8. Isn't Safari still major (every iPhone and iPad)? And isn't it still based on it's own fork of KHTML rather than Chromium's? Firefox still has it's own. You're really just saying that Edge uses Chromium, and nobody misses the legacy IE rendering engine.

    I don't know what t'rusted' is, but Chinese citizens are still heavy users of VPN services despite the ban. It's likely the reason their VPN companies are big enough to have global reach in the first place.

    Yeah, while competing with Google's Android. If they eliminate themselves from competition, it will be wide open again.

    If they screw it up, expect a major company to fork Android and develop a new app store. If it's a smartphone vendor like Samsung, it will probably fail. But if it's a tech company that people are likely to create an account with, it might work.

    That or Microsoft revives Windows Phone. They don't want there to be only one smartphone OS with major marketshare, because it will become more costly for them in the long run to be dependent.

    Contact lists are huge (or at least mine is). Capacitive touch to scroll contacts is a game-changer even if there's no computer functionality.

    When the 20th Century Fox rights revert, they can put out the complete, de-specialized trilogy on Blu-Ray. They'd make a fair bit of money on that.

    Yeah, that might be worth it. I forgot the Disney/Netflix deal hasn't expired yet. Probably a lot I should get to (Is Coco any good?).

    Episode IX is not for another 11 months, so maybe the fact that it's not finished kept you from wanting to watch more.

    Eh I'm not so sure high release frequency is the problem, it's that the quality of the movie, story and character development are lacking, IMO.

    Those generally go hand in hand. Netflix is starting to really suffer from this too.

    Rogue One was better than any of the 3rd trilogy. First one was just a rehash, while the second was just trash.

    I didn't bother with Solo. Partly because of TLJ. But also partly because I had just seen a Star Wars movie and there was no anticipation or build up to wait for it. No anticipation means no drive to go. The mindset is that there's always a current Star Wars movie and it doesn't matter.

    Yeah, I was definitely drawing more on their Mac Pro, Mac Mini, and MacBook Pro for that comment. Even their iPads have had a few models like that.

    I believe that they also estimate based on past travel times, from actual driver location data. This could include drivers who made several random long stops, but either not long enough to count as a break in driving or misinterpreted.

    I can't even get most built in Windows programs to show up before we results. Most of which are actually in my start menu. On top of that, I have an SSD, so the web results come up after I've started to press the enter key on the result I actually want only to see it get replaced by a web result and open a browser.

    That was before Apple showed everyone the "way.". If it's still your newest model, you can get away with charging the same price for years until the day the next model comes out. And instead of fire sale to clear out inventory, the old model mostly disappears from the market.
