This is only maybe the second post to explain this among so many who get it wrong. Linksys does not make ethernet chips and they have an OUI. Really anyone making significant numbers of custom hardware would.
If 16 million other companies do this we're TOTALLY SCREWED!
When you get close to that, you reserve a large portion of the remaining 3-byte OUI's and switch to 4-byte OUI's in that range. Only 65K addresses for each one, but would keep it going for a while longer.
Back of the envelope might be a common metaphor. But back of the hand would be an uncommon (but correct) one. And it also might be the literal writing surface used. I know I've written on the back of my hand (gel ink only, ordinary ball-point hurt too much).
So...GSM now has an ESN? All this talk about the "Internet of Things" is really just saying that the devices are getting the equivalent of a MAC Address and can be remotely provisioned. And phones will still have SIM cards.
Guess there's nothing wrong with that, but I thought there was a big reason for GSM's push to have SIM cards in the first place.
And in the wifi case, the outside person could have their mole device be a wifi/cellular device plugged into any hidden, out of the way electrical outlet in the building. They could do the rest of their research work remotely. In fact, I wonder if all the store POS units at all locations are on the same VLAN - so spreading the malware could be trivial. We don't know how much time was spent planning this attack, or really much of anything.
Cellular device to the network is likely it. I found out a bit later that the breach was through the POS software. So if it's firewalled off, it either needs another network jump-off or a manual device involved.
This is why you should always have your computer's volume set to 100% and to adjust speaker volume at the amplified speaker. And/or use a digital output.
There are those who will listen to 64Kbps MP3's all day and say that the quality is just fine. There are also Beatles fans. Somewhere, there's an intersection between these two groups and some company would certainly come along and exploit it.
Just look at all the $1 DVD's at places like Wal-Mart. Absolutely no care in restoration on some releases of older/out of copyright movies, poor transfer - probably from VHS and not the original film. But they still sell.
You joke, but it's really incentive for future artists more than former. When they see people working a few years in their youth and then earning royalties into retirement, that's quite the incentive to get into music.
There's no way for a bacteria to become resistant to penicillin by being exposed Triclosan.
That's not relevant. If the bacteria that you get on your hands is caught from someone who's received a treatment of penicillin, you end up with bacteria that's resistant to both.
Schizophrenia due to infectious disease of the bra
Either you're into some weird stuff, your you need to watch the length limits of your subjects.

They see incompetence as a job for free enterprise, not the government. Ergo, Republican.
I somehow don't think they'll want to centralize their vending machines like you describe.

it's not like he can just go down to the pawn shop and pick up that exact type of rare hand carved flute
Unless he can figure out which one they sold it to.
And international travel.

Of course - but it wouldn't have to have happened out in the open near all the cameras.
But I doubt they're fully compliant.
I wish I hadn't already commented, as I'd love to mod this a little higher.

sick and tired of having my credit card numbers stolen every few months
You must have been doing something wrong. That's not the normal experience.
The attack on the POS system would change that or cause a second transmission of data.
That's why you attach a cellular device to the internal network or pull out the microSD card from the skimmer before it's found.
I'm sure a lot of them probably think so. How hard can it be?

the subject should be a play on words or shameless pun
Or just RE: whatever the last guy said, like both of us.

Did you read the instruction manual for your DVD player? I'm pretty sure you're doing something wrong there.
It only became temporary when they got caught.
Also, does it lie about the receiving strength only to the target phone or to all the phones it comes in contact with?
