  1. new idea on US ISPs Announce Anti-Child-Porn Agreement · · Score: 1

Why doesnt the goverment just give pedo's all the child porn there hard drives can handle. Then they will be too busy masturbating to go out and find a real child. Some prisons keep prisoners so well fed they become fat and lazy thus reducing violent crimes inside the facility. Similar concept.

I was using straight Mozilla since before name change to Firefox. Before that I had constant browser hijackings, uncontrollable popups even with blockers and a host of problems.

  6. Fail to see the problem. on Children Concerned By Parents' Web Habits · · Score: 1

If the parents are neglecting their children, for example not buying food or clothes and paying bills then you have a problem. Small children need attention from parents to learn and grow. Teens however, need to learn some autonomy so they wont become needy little shits.

I cant see a teenage boy complaining about this. Free porn and someone to play WoW with. I fail to see the problem. If the kid doesnt play WoW then he still has free porn. Teenage girls these days are obsessive compulsive materialistic little brats that think the world revolves around them.

I made the switch to linux full time 2 years ago. It was a pain at first but linux has made leaps and bounds in that time. I am running debian etch at home and ubuntu 64 at work. Ubuntu 64 8.04 installed all codecs, java and flash with ndiswrapper automatically. I did nothing but make a selection. Wine 1.0 has ran almost everything I tried to use. Autocad 2002LT runs with some hacking. But Use virtualbox 1.6 in seamless mode and with a fast machine it almost feels like its running native. Make the switch, its worth it overall.

2 months before XP was released I bought a computer that was "XP Ready". Granted it was a top of the line for its day, I was able to load and run XP with no problems what so ever hardware wise. My drivers were available from the manufacturers and ran great. Upgrading to XP back then I lost the use of one game which I was able to run later on after a few patches. That is what "(Insert OS) Ready" means. Vista obviously has other issues.

  11. Re:This is not a troll: GIMP is hard for newbies on Google Funds Work for Photoshop on Linux · · Score: 1

Gimp's interface is somewhat confusing compared to photoshop. For many like me, computer art classes were basically photoshop classes. A better interface would help it alot. Blender ( 3D modeling and such for those who dont know ) is considered to be pro calibur but the interface really really really sucks. I run Debian etch and PCLinuxOS at home full time. If wine ran autocad and peachtree ( we use open office here )and other such software. All 8 computers at work would be running Debian or Red Hat overnight.

Produce something worth 20 bucks a pop then people might actually buy them more often. People dont seem to like that disgusted feeling they get after dropping money at the theater or for dvds. With a download they have nothing in it and can just delete it if it sucks. I guess avoiding they disgusted feeling outweighs they guilt of getting an illegal COPY!!!! of a movie.
