This is not because of "regulations" it's because of anti competitive measures like "franchise fees" that are nothing more than mob style kick backs to local governments. Comcast loves them because it makes it near impossible for a new company to come in and compete with them in a market.

They wont spend money because their profits are regulated? are you that stupid? Please explain the huge number of Windmills going up all over the place at $100,000 each. Plus all the backbone upgrades going in. Hell they recently upgraded the local COAL power plant to be a dual fuel Gas/Coal so they can run Natural gas but easily revert to coal if they need to.

The Parrot AR is known to just fail on it's own. It is a steaming pile of crap. It freaking uses ultrasonics to check altitude, making it unreliable as hell, and to avoid the complaints from the 1.0 of devices flying away on them the firmware was changed to cut power and drop like a stone if they lose ground reference.
I spent a summer fixing and hacking on one. They are complete crap. I cant believe that anyone would buy one and keep it.
The Drone owner was too stupid to understand 2.4ghz and there is a strong signal source nearby. If you fly big drones and dont have a WiSpy and a laptop to check the area for heavy 2.4ghz interference (that is what RC plane controls operate on now) then you need to be liable for all damages due to being stupid.
Why do you need to "update" the CNC machine's OS? what moron has it on the network with internet access? I know of CNC machines that are running windows 95. and SHOCKER.... they work just fine without any support from microsoft.
Why are you wasting money on 5 managers? 3 managers would be plenty for a team of 50 and hire 2 QC testing people so that you have someone telling the developers what they are doing wrong.

The only problem with switching to Linux is the applications. Most governments and companies have applications they rely on and sadly they are only on windows. The sheer amount of utter crap VB6 stuff that is STILL in use inside corporations is mind boggling.
If someone was serious about linux adoption they would dump several million into having applications written for linux that businesses would use. There are no useable linux accounting packages. everything is absolute garbage in the FOSS world. There is ZERO asset management software applications for linux,etc....

Craptastic SCADA suites like WonderWare are so poorly written and horribly implemented that they barely run. Then you have plant managers that are so stupid they dont understand that you NEVER run anything but the SCADA on the computers, but instead install other software and have them all on the company LAN with internet access...
They deserve the problems they have, because if the SCADA systems were designed right, and managers and business owners were hit in the face with a sack of nickles when they ask for stupid security rick crap, the bugs would not be a problem as there would be a frontline security defense in place.

It's also low grade dog food. the 2.4ghz DSMX stuff has ZERO reliability and ZERO use in professional devices.
