I have a malicious and friend delete proof dropbox. I simply have my linux server copy and sync the files. if they all disappear, they all reappear as the server puts them all back. The only way to delete them is to rename then with a special prefix, then the server will actually delete them.
IF you trust the cloud for security or reliability, then you are a fool. Always set up your own systems to automatically back up and manage on top of the cloud service.
Honestly, because you can write them off yearly and replace them yearly. a $99.00 color laser or even the B&W ones are perfect and you can use the hell out of them knowing that if it fails then only $99.00 to get a new one. Offbrand refills are 1/3rd the cost and if they blow up the printer who cares, IT's only $99.00
Unless you are doing extreme volume and need things like 11X17 duplex and document management it is purely stupid to buy a higher end printer.
I had it installed on my Nexus 4 and it was a heaping steaming pile of crap. Kept dropping data connections and phone calls were full of bugs like not being able to hang up, or the phone app crashing when you press dial.
My favorite was the notification of incoming call just failing to appear until the carrier sent it to voicemail.
Most deivces can get away with reporting and acting as a high speed serial interface or other device that already exists. Just copy the VID and PID of an existing device and call it done.
Only the noobs that dont know better are using USB 2.0 for external storage. My external raid boxes are firewire 800 and esata. Anyone needing REAL speed and is not using the drive as occasional use for small files went straight to eSata or FW800
Expensive pain in the ass? as in REAL hardware processing using a chipset instead of spare IO pins on the chipset and let the processor waste time doing the job?
Yeah... And explain why it was and still is the standard in pro video and audio? Oh it's because USB is crap for transferring huge amount of of data.
USB 3.0 requires the "pain in the ass" that yu complain about as it requires a chipset to do the processing instead of being cheap crap that requires the processor to waste cycles on it.
it's what happens when an old school hacker get's old and doesn't become a sellout like the rest of them did. WE are a rare breed but do still exist.
For example , Steve Woz - still a pure hacker with the hacker mentality and honestly still understands the drive, passion, and that curiosity is more important than anything else.
The DIY community strongly disagrees with you. There are thousands out there building not only computers from scratch but even processors from scratch.
And the over 1,000,000 Raspberry Pi's sold means there are at least a million of them out there not being used to surf the internet.

you need a better safe, and if he figures out how to crack the safe, then you need to send him to a better school for the gifted so he becomes disgustingly rich using his talents.

Forced VPN back to home in the settings and use the home firewall for filtering. Works great if you have a phone that lets you lock the settings so the kids cant change it back.
at age 8 I had complete root access of the computer and by age 9 I had started to disassemble it for hardware modifications and was OS hacking. I was online before my parents because I was the one who figured out the passwords for the local UUNET dial up node 300bps and I was rocking the ASCII art boobies!
My porn was finding more and more information, When I discovered what some people had out there, I really wanted a real computer so I started searching for business that went under to get my dad to go to the auctions. Scored a Cromemco Miniframe computer by the age of 12 that has 2 VT100 terminals. I had to hack the root password to even get access, so my very first task was to own the box.
Children need unrestricted access to the computer and to knowlege and information. they do NOT need unrestricted access to a cesspool.
Fast foreward to today, my daughter grew up having 2 computers that she had 100% control over. I bought her every book she ever wanted on programming, hacking, etc... but she did not get unrestricted internet access, Unless she figured out how to completely bypass my hardware filtering firewall, then she deserved the access. But I never detected any breaches, so either she never cared to try to get to nasty-horse-porn.com or she is a damn good hacker.
No they cant. there is some wild speculation out there about it and the nutjobs are trying to whip up fear about it.
No, use the cloud for all the free parts, just put your own systems on top of it to protect yourself.

Get any printer that supports Google Cloud print or HP's web print. they are all 100% linux compatible.
Small Office Home Office... you have your acronym wrong.

Thorazine doesnt work for him. He's on full blown lithium to keep the voices in his head at bay.
Note: he is best known as the person who's name is Hansey that calls into the Howard Stern show a lot.
You are so full of shit it's oozing out of your ears and what seems to be your eye sockets as well.
I have several unregistered rifles and I'm 100% legal. there is ZERO requirement to register all firearms, only pistols.
They can filibuster every single thing on the floor to cause pain and misery for the rest of the party until they start listening.
I can fly right now without any of that.
It's called flying private or corporate where the TSA has zero jurisdiction.
How many votes did they have for defunding it? 0
Compared to the 397 times they tried defunding the Affordable Care act.
The Tea Party has no interest in preserving freedom.

Its not a "defacto standard".
What I want is a non SHITTY high speed serial interface.
Please take some remedial classes in reading and then computers. You seem to not understand either.

You must not be able to read....
"Scored a Cromemco Miniframe computer by the age of 12 that has 2 VT100 terminals."
next time try reading past the first sentence before posting.
Exactly, want to really teach him? give him a box of old computer parts and say, "you want a tablet? build it"
Or better yet, has some scruples and completely crash wallstreet erasing all ownership data and bring back some semblence of sanity to the world.
