And both STILL are garbage. we saw a 200% speed increase on ALL our corperate Windows machines when we switched from SEP to the enterprise offering from ESET. The change was so dramatic that most of us did not believe that the ESET software was running.
Honestly, SEP and Norton both needs to have even more rewrites because it's the joke of the Enterprise world in regards to performance and reliability.
I just bought a brand new LG LED tv and it was NOT 3d "ready" I intentionally looked for a NON 3d set as I have zero desire for 3d on a tiny 52" tv. It's a brand new model as well, all makers still have a large number of no 3d models available.
I guarantee my email servers are not compromised, they are sitting OFF in a storage room for the past 3 years. we switched to Gmail for Exchange hosting 3 years ago to get rid of having to manage the huge turd that Exchange server is.
Buy a old Tape library robot from ebay, instead of tapes make it hold books. now you have a "library in a vending machine" and it will keep those churchies from stealing books or keeping them for months past the return date.
Bonus points if you make it look like a REDBOX rental vending machine.
Dont forget that it's an absolute PITA to program for android compared to iOS.
Android Programming is painful and downright ugly. I HATE having to write android apps and try to convince management here to simply let us create a webside "app" that does not need to be installed and will work on all phones.
"- Turn-key and embedded hardware often use DOS - Retro-computing: Some of us like dragging out our old hardware to play with it - Learning to code closer to the metal; DOS gives you enough services to get you going, while giving you a feel for embedded programming"
All of these are better served by using a hand rolled linux. You can roll a linux kernel, FS and busybox that is smaller and far more capable.
I have a old PC-104 386 motherboard acting as a robot that runs linux that I play with regularly. I can get drivers for things like webcams that you cant get for dos.
The damn HP palmtops. They had to use the Bizzaro PCMCIA chipset in those that NOBODY supports and the freaking crap dos drivers will not load in FreeDOS
And yes, a Dos Palmtop is very useable. IT works great as a RS232 analyzer for integration.
If the DoD sees an attack from pepsi.com, IT's pretty easy from that point to figure out that pepsi.com is compromised. Even an MCSE can figure that one out.
Which is why I send the email 10 times with a receipt request. Boss is too stupid to turn off that feature, and I also get a reply from him saying, "PLEASE STOP EMAILING ME THIS!"
Never EVER trust your boss. he will burn you to save his own butt.
Not a problem here. we simply re store the workstation boot image from the creation CD and run all the updates on it. Thumb drives, not a problem, thumb drives dont work here.
as for switches, I can update ios on every switch in 60 seconds. not a hard thing to do.
as for the "backups" problem. I have yet to see a hacker that can infect a machine using an odf file, I'm not backing up ANY executables.
Honestly I can do a complete wipe and restore in under 5 days for a company that has 1000 employees and 20 servers. IF the IT department was set up and run by competent people.
DUH. 10 seconds with a calculator would have told you this BEFORE you fricking made a prototype and flew all over the planet testing it....
Wait..... I get it!
I have a great idea for a product, I need to go to Hawaii for 4 weeks to test it.
Honestly the article is stupid. I regularly charge an iphone and an IPAD in 2 hours with a solar panel, in fact I also run a laptop off of it while they charge.
Yes, it's a larger 3 panel fold out array I have for camping, but I'm still charging on solar.
They need to clarify, you CANT charge a cellphone in a reasonable amount of time with a $1.99 garbage cell glued to the back of a cellphone. Their design was no better than taking a couple of solar panels from yard lights and thinking they were innovative.
Well the decay in the united states started in the 1980's so I'm guess we are right on track. it was about that time when Corporations stopped caring about product quality and innovation and decided that the right thing is to maximize profits at all costs.
did you try to decode it? It's a very common childrens cipher.
The Atbash cipher is a very common, simple cipher. It was for the Hebrew alphabet, but modified here to work with the English alphabet. Basically, when encoded, an "A" becomes a "Z", "B" turns into "Y", etc.
The message I posted is : Yes it is, there are times you can send a message encrypted and people will mod it down as gibberish or a troll. This is perfect for someone trying to transmit a message to another secretly.
If they make them illegal, there will ALWAYS be a china grey market of "illegal" computers.
Sounds lik Geeks will become like the Jews in WW-II germany. Hiding in the attic to read about programming and assembling their hidden computer that runs an illegal OS
Yes, I am calling anyone that would make general computing that has no DRM in it illegal, as bad as freaking hitler.
Radioshack has always sold a Macrovision remover. it was called the VHS video stabilizer. anyone that had a clue was able to get a device to defeat macrovision easily and cheaply.
And if you had a clue about electronics, you could easily turn down the AGC setting on the VCR and defeat it.

I have a friend that had it fail after 5 years, he had to wear glasses again. LASIK is not a guarantee. They tell you this before they do it.
Yup. see caddilac. It's just chevy with bling.
For the same money you can buy a REAL car like a BMW or Porsche and not get a whored up chevy.
Yes you can. Stop shopping at Best Buy.

No, they can report bugs. But I'm not responding to sally cheapskate on how to drag her X file into Z when it's not even supported.
I never said ignore bug reports, Do you have someone living in your head making up things and inserting it into your thought stream?
You never offer tech support to free customers. Spell that out.
"Free customers get ZERO tech support, your questions will go unanswered, you will have access to the WiKi for common answers."

Installing it to a dumb pc? yes
Developing on it? not a chance. Software development on DOS is a LOT harder than linux.
So that covers the first and third item. you only seem to care about #2

Yes I used an easy cipher, but it proves a point.
Me being modded "troll" proves my point.
