"NOTE: please do not mention Linux or BSD. the NSA has had to cut back on expenses and loss of revinue has significantly impacted our staff skill set. WE can now only afford MCSE's so the only thing that can be dealt with is the current Windows release.
Until we can afford to pay more than $18.00 an hour for our techs we need to convince everyone to use windows 7.
Thanks for your understanding... Please let me know how the smear campaign for trucrypt is coming along, the loss of BinLAden has set us back as we were linking it to him."
This is a secret leaked NSA memo sent to me by a undisclosed leak.
Really? please point me to ONE site that shows how I can laughably easy read someones email to and from their iPhone. Because it's a no brainer for RIM now. simply whine at them and they give you access to a server to read all the emails and messages. Theirs is laughably easy.
They rolled over and gave the keys to everyone's kingdom to whatever whiny monarch or head of state that wanted it. It instantly destroyed their credibility as to the "security" of the data..
Honestly if they told the king of Saudia Arabia to stuff it up his rear the would have had a LOT of instant credibility to the business world. Instead they rolled over and said , "here this is how you read everyones emails, can we do anything else for you?"
I need to tell Oracle and RedHat to sue all their customers as they are not paying for their products. All those linux servers running Oracle are ILLEGAL!
Honestly Unity I had high hopes for until I tried living with it for a week with a RC.
It's great for insulating all the dirtyness of a computer from a user... including keeping all the utilities and configuration apps away from you. changing the power settings ended up a frustrating search and a give up to the Xterminal to do it by hand in a command prompt. It also is badly broken on laptops as it will not return to full brightness after a screen sleep like 10.10 did. I can close the lid and 60% of the time the screen will blank and turn off the backlight, 40% of the time it does not, again 10.10 did not have this problem.
Unity was not fully tested before release, it's a beta release at best.
Look at Blender for example. It has became a MAJOR contender in the 3d space. the last release has taken steps that are starting to pass horribly overpriced commercial products like Maya.
The hair and smoke simulations in Blender are just short of magical. and it's constantly getting better.
If you make your phone easy to disassemble for repair you have gap problems. if you seal the damn thing up tight so it's throwaway, you can do what apple, motorola and HTC are doing now. NONE of them are making a proper sealed phone that should be able to handle use in the rain.
And yes I love my otterbox case on my phone.. I can use my phone in the rain without tripping moisture sensors.
"The CEO argues that they didn't want to be a "me too" Android developer."
So the "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" mantra of Microsoft is a better choice? That is a load of BS.
The CEO wants Microsoft because of the large amount of money he will be getting out of making sure the deal happens. Anything else he claims is simply hogwash.
I have an open AP. it's limited to 256K up and down, port 80 only and ran through a dans guardian list as well as a privoxy list. The price you pay for using my free internet. I also log all connections and what they did. Mostly to snoop on the neighbors. I have a nice pile of usernames and passwords for facebook.
I prefer a old DD-WRT route in the ceiling not connected to any internet broadcasting "linksys" "Dlink" and other common names on channel 1. It forces the neighbors away from my channel (3 foot aluminum plate under it shadows the signal from my router and home I cant see the AP's it broadcasts inside the house, It's good to be educated in RF) that I use in my house AND encourages them to change the defaults. works great. Hilaroius to see on the wardriving maps that there are 30 accesspoints at my location though.
I hate to break it to you, but Police jobs are not typically filled with high IQ types. Most are 90-100IQ and take orders well.
I have met very smart cops, typically those that have college degrees and are passing through copdom to sheriff of a smaller community or detective. There is no such thing as a smart cop.. Ask any New Yorker.
Nothing wrong with that idea. What is wrong is the "it's good enough" attitude of the 20 somethings. They are the ones that have something catch fire in the hacker-space. They are the ones that ignore everyone else when we say "fuse that" and we have to evacuate because they set a LiPo battery on fire and filled the room with smoke. They refuse to learn or listen and they HOG The laser cutter with their damn projects where they cant pre prototype with plastic or cardboard, but instead cut 30 armatures over and over because it's wrong and needs tweaking.. So they use up all the material stock for those of us that take care to not waste.
Several of them are in debt to the group because they ran out of cash.
At one point BBS programs like that started to be able to use CallerID. I had a set of nice US Robotics modems that did callerID and automated callback that allowed me to blacklist users by simply issuing a pickup/hangup as soon as their number appeared on the CID stream.
I loved the callback function... call and log in, ask for admin functions and it drops your call, then calls back to a predetermined phone number for admin access. Significantly reduced hacking at the expense of having to do all admin work at home.
One of my car hacking websites has this... It's called the troll bin. All the users that get marked as troll can post all they want but nobody but themselves or another troll see it. If you get a rep level above 20 (20 people liked your post) it appears visible to you and you can go and browse the troll bin for reading fun.
I have wasted many hours laughing at how the trolls get all pissed that nobody is responding, then another troll responds, and they troll each other. Every once in a while they figure it out and leave, but some are still there after 4 years.
"If you don't ban them, but instead start F-N with them, they will "...just clear cookies, change their IP, and register a new account..." and then start a vendetta to get back at the F-N bastard that had the audacity to do something that underhanded and cowardly."
People told me that about screwing with "crackers" trying to ssh or telnet into my servers. I wrote a "screw with them" honeypot back in 1999 that insulted the hell out of them after wasting a lot of their time. I then added a firewall drop rule for their ip address after they logged off or dropped off. It was great looking through the logs of what the script kiddies tried to do.
Today I run one of the fun current honeypots at home just for entertainment. I love how you can modify them and watch as the same idiot tries to download the bait files over and over but they always tend to have a error and abort the download....
I can make things with a turret lathe and a Milling machine that are better than the stuff that comes out of a laser cutter. The laser cutter is for the Lazy or undereducated tinkerer that does not want to learn how to mill metal or delrin themselves to make the products. They want it instant. Dont bog me down with education, I want 50,000 foot hacking.
They have their place, but my robot hand machined from aluminum will kick the arse of your laser cut one.

If you paid your employees a living wage they would not sell your customers info for $100.00 or a months wages.

REally? then why are there far more Symbian apps out there than the Android apps and iphone apps combined?

It's the whiners.
Same guys that try and sell their laptop on ebay for what they paid for it 3 years ago and complain that nobody is bidding.
That is exactly like a guy showing up with a poker deck to a MTG tournament and whining that he cant play.
OR port limits and a blocklist.

Free wifi 24 hours a day...
McDonalds..
And that is exactly what the FBI does....
They ruin the taste of coffee.
Cruise missles are fast and can take it out from afar...
Kiddie porn server at 53,234234 by 43.1232334..... we have a target...
Any possible collateral damage?
Yes sir, they also host 2 cooking sites and a LOL CATS site....
LOL CATS? LAUNCH!!!!
This is only in a world where the cops are complete fucking redards. You investigate and if it's an Open AP, guaranteed the prep will show up again.
So smart people, will ask the people with the open AP to help them catch the perp. install gear to track the next time and NAIL the real criminal.
In your world, I guess bashing in doors and pissing all over the carpet and wall is normal. Like that justice you clamored for?
How about being "socially responsible" and demand the cops act "socially responsible" or is that too much bother?
I hate to break it to you, but Police jobs are not typically filled with high IQ types. Most are 90-100IQ and take orders well.

I mean honestly, it's as relevant. Who the hell would have even though it?
Other than a Fox news reporter who equates a hardware hacker with a script kiddie or criminal cracker.
Is he going to deny involvement in my PS3 controller's batteries failing?
