Voyager probes are frigging HUGE. why cant we launch the same thing twice, but have them assemble in orbit and give it a chemical kick in the ass to get the slingshotting down and then when it get's it's last slingshot around juipeter kick in the Ion engines to do a long hard burn for a few years to get the thing really hauling ass.
I'll bet with current tech we can get past Voyager 1 within 10 years AND have better instruments, a stronger transmitter, far more sensitive receiver, etc.... Seriously. NASA could do this right now and we might see a flyby of another star within a 200 year window.
Boston Legal relaunched him there and poo-poo-caa-caa my dad says has kept him there.
Yes, I know, it makes me weep as well.. but this is the planet where we have "Americas got talent", "dancing wit the stars", and other inane drivel that enthralls the population...
Here's a kicker.... all that info is freely available to anyone along with all their financial records. All it takes is a credit card and a search on Nexis-Lexis.
1 - idiot manager syndrome. There are complete and utter morons in positions of power that make decisions like that. they go against all recommendations and do what they want because they know better! They are the BOSS!
2 - hiring incompetent IT/Web-design because they cant understand why you need to actually pay that position a wage that attracts competent applicants. $12.95 an hour = guy who is handy and knows 'puters.... The position requires $35.00 an hour minimum to attract a competent guy that would have raised red flags all over the place when this was being designed.
When my wife discovered netflix streaming I bought a $99.00 RoKu box and stuck with linux on everything... Plus it's far better than sitting there watching it on a tiny screen.
Ahhh, the venerable VO-1600... I can imagine the lights dimming as that thing spun up the motors. Problem was it could bot schedule recordings, you had to set it's mechanical tuner to the station and press record while you watched something else. Problem was, it never recorded the whole show...Tapes were not long enough for a 1 hour show...
The phillips N-1500 was the first real VCR with a timer....
The pure smearing of the nasty NTSC video.... which you could not tell because broadcast was all smeared and crappy anyways.....
I get it all in HD and without commercials via bittorrent...
Until they stop being idiots and assholes, I'll stick with the content delivery that I trust.
and yes I PAY for a private tracker group that has no MPAA or industry lackeys in it. I'd PAY them for the files, but NBC, COmcast and everyone else is not interest in selling them to me. Give me non DRM standard 720p mpeg4 files and I'll give you $1.00 an episode. force DRM on me then I'll look elsewhere as I want to use MY playback system not your crappy screwed up junk.
Easily traced until you get to the POP of the Voip call. Or it's not out of a company's compromised phone system.
Sorry but prank calling phone numbers is 100% untraceable and easy to do in the world of Voip and tons of companies with outbound services that are not protected as well as they should be.
Phone calls are the easiest to hide behind, because they can't do the CSI trace the call crap. Your education in the matter is from TV and is very flawed.
If you would have had the dry ice and the drive in a cooler you dont have to worry about condensation. CO2 will displace all the air in the cooler, and itwill certianly be too cold in there to have more than 0% humidity.
Wow, you must really enjoy your job at Conglomo Marketing. Hurts small businesses... really. Are you telling me that people are so fickle that when they cant buy an item they say " screw it, I'm not buying it! Ohh look a different shiny! Gimmie gimmie new shiny!!!!!!"
In reality they simply wait and buy it later, or contact he company and ask, "I cant buy your custom made beer goggle dispenser, what's up? I want to buy it."
I agree, back in 1776 a bunch of evil weasels took over the colonies and look at what happened. a lot of innocent British soldiers sent over to protect the citizens died!
One man's TERRORIST is another mans Freedom Fighter.
You and those like you amount to 0.01% of amazons customers.
Most people watch dancing with the stars+Glee and buy every shiney they see.
"Ohh this is pretty and made with the hearts of baby seals that were clubbed to death and assembled in china by slave children that get whipped! I'll buy 2!"
And yes, that is accurate. Otherwise Nike would be out of business as everyone knows their factories are horrible crimes against humanity.
Comcast, AT&T, all of them do NOT want to upgrade infrastructure to deliver real broadband, because they make far higher profits by letting it simply sit. Plus without Govt regulation or real competition, they can tel the customer, "Stuff it in your pie hole" if you call to complain.
Honestly, they are doing what us as consumers ask them to do. IF you happily pay your bill month after month and do not complain to the FTC and FCC on a regular basis, then you ENJOY your service and LOVE your service company.
I can guarantee you 1 thing.,
Comcasts lawyers wrote it to benefit them and screw you.
They dont give a rats ass how you define anything. read the contract you agreed to. what you think and believe has no bearing on anything.

trek never had a "moneyless" society. it always had money and wealth. They just never focused on it.

2 reasons.

This is true, What does Fox News have to say on it? They are always 100% accurate!
Exclusion? I get all the BBC I need off of piratebay.org.
When my wife discovered netflix streaming I bought a $99.00 RoKu box and stuck with linux on everything... Plus it's far better than sitting there watching it on a tiny screen.
You have a DSL that is 10Gb? and cable available at 15Gb?
IF you are not in Japan I call raging BS. You cant have home internet that is FASTER than University to university INTERNET II speeds.

My 3 shows...
Robot chicken, Venture Brothers, and lately reruns of "Drawn together".
I can learn anytime, I want sophomoric fart jokes for my down time.
NBC's content is a piss in the bucket of the better stuff out there. the BBC produces a lot, as well as a lot of other smaller players.
Honestly, content without a big conglomo is right around the corner... NBC will die just like a bad SNL sketch.
I get it all in HD and without commercials via bittorrent...

Not as whiney as IT managers. Those guys are tools. Only slightly more annoying than the Marketing Department....
Those people whine BIG TIME and they do nothing at all.
But hiring a competent IT tech that knows Linux is far FAR cheaper than hiring a CCNE.

"bubblegum and duct-tape fix"
Yeah.. as if a Watch-guard, NOKIA, or CISCO firewall are any better than a Laptop running Debian.
Sounds like the writer knows nothing about firewalls at all.
Which is what reality has been for the last 90,000,000,003 years. Before then we had Moral Absolutism... but Cthulhu put a stop to that.

Guess what, the Taliban calls you a "spoiled brat acting like thugs".
Iran calls you that.
North Korea calls the western world that.
It makes it a lot easier to hate the other side if you give them a derogatory name and belittle them.
