    POE is massively less common than 12V and you can build a 12V wifi controlled switch for less than $5.00 Anything commercial will be a very very niche device and will cost a lot.

    What is more common, 120-240V AC. That is the absolute most common power on this planet. and Ethernet controlled AC switches are plentiful and easy to get.

    Stop being a cheap bastard and buy one. $79.00 on amazon.

    Honestly that is the only change and 99% of the users will leave the screen attached.

    Love my CF-19 but I would probably not upgrade to the 20, the detachable screen is not that useful.

    Seriously, you can not go about your day without breaking at least one law. Plus with intentionally obscure laws such as "disorderly conduct" you can be arrested at any time for any reason. You are lucky that the police don't want to harass you because they have the legal standing to completely harass and screw with anyone they want without ANY legal recourse.

    Mini ITX motherboard, case and power supply. All done if you buy one with two ethernet ports, or just add a ethernet adapter for the second.
    I use a gigabyte H77N-WIFI it has dual ethernet and absolutely rocks with a small SSD and only 2 gig of ram. Blows out of the water absolutely every bit of "router" hardware with even a very low price processor.

    Run IP-COP, Momowall, pfsense or Smoothwall and you are done in less than a couple of hours with a device that makes Cisco enterprise stuff look like a toy.

    Ubuntu on surface doesn't have the well known wifi chipset problem that causes disconnection or low bandwidth, it will also sleep properly as windows 10 still has some Surface sleep issues that will turn it into a backpack heater, it also runs faster.

    This trojan doesnt work with pulseaudio..... well technically NOTHING works with pulseaudio.

    So I want them to write and push out a patch so it will work with not just ALSA but the other 657 different audio interface API's.

    Ubuntu runs brilliantly on the Microsoft Surface line. it in fact runs better than Windows 10 does. and I've been running ubuntu on Fujitsu Stylistics for well over 6 years now.

    honestly building a dedicated tablet for it stupid. just install ubuntu on one of the China $199 core duo surface tablets and call it done.

    This is a complete falsehood. all the ECU's from the 80's and 90's were not locked down and easily modified. the 7730 GM ECU is the most reverse engineered ECU in history and was used for a very very long time across many cars. having it wide open never damaged the reliability of anything and in fact extended the life of many GM LT1 and LS1 engines by letting them live in other cars as engine swaps.

    Locked down ECU does absolutely nothing at all to reliability. the only use for it is to protect a profit center.

    Truth.

    I can do more with BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Mazda than I can with GM/Ford/Chrysler with just my laptop and a cheap china ODB to USB adapter. In fact a BMW is easier for a driveway mechanic to work on because I can easily ask it what is wrong. go ahead and query the transfer case module as to it's status on a GM or activate the calibration function.... Oh wait you cant.

    All because GM works like hell to protect the revenue stream of its dealerships. so that $60 30 minute fluid change becomes $700 at a 1100% profit.

    You reverse engineer it, publish all the information anonymously and tell these companies to FUCK THEMSELVES.

    It's starting in the Car world, The reverse engineering of the Honda ECU's you can get the details and source code out there if you look hard enough. some GM ECM's have been completely hacked, and the BMW dealership coding software has been released and you can get it.
    Tractors in the article are incredibly niche devices so it's going to take longer, but full details needs to be published publically and everyone needs to spread it far and wide.

    Xbox TWO should use a VR headset and have some spatial sensing using the kenect as well. That way they can force the next purchase of video game console easily.

    I love playing games like Rainbow 6, but If I could have it VR and hold a plastic rifle in my hands to aim/shoot with? oh hell yeah I would drop 2X Xbox One money and $80 per game to do that.

    Or Play forza from a real VR view? oh hell yeah.
