I've been using Netscape 4.5 since it was released and it hasn't crashed on me even 5 times. I use it for at least 2 hours a day. I do leave Java turned off, though. It uses too many resources and it does tend to crash Netscape.
I agree with you that Netscape is inefficient but wanting MSIE for Linux is being way too radical IMHO.
We're talking about hard working people at Toshiba. Imagine if they had _lost_ the lawsuit! It'd be the end of the company.
We have people losing their lives working for Toshiba on one side and then suddenly because of one minor, theoretical issue the company closes 1999 with a deficit and gets hit financially like never before.
Worse yet: we have other rounds of nonsense while other companies are getting sued in the process. When will it stop? Can it stop?
How hard is it for a judge now to say "no, I won't let you win the case"? If one does, how does Toshiba stay then? If one doesn't, will we have to endure this process of stealing hard-earned money forever?
I'm not a lawyer, but perhaps someone can clarify me on this: is there any way to revert Toshiba's case and for them not to pay the 2.1 billion dollars?
>> Oh, and by the way.... The term 'American' isn't quite right since you don't own the whole continent > 1. Who decides what is 'right'? Some asshole from another country?
We're dealing with something which is a fact. America is a continent which goes from Patagonia to the north of Canada, not just the area where the continental United States of America is.
'Asshole'. You could've at least reasoned for a bit before calling me names.
> 2. Can you show me the continent 'America' on a map? Sure. As I said, goes from Patagonia to Canada, including South, Central and North America. The USA are contained in the latter.
>> At least stop calling your country America and start calling it The United States of America or The US. > 5. No.
of course not, you're an American from the United States of America. I've just proven my point that quite a lot of you like to boss people around. Examples of that are your hard headed use of the English measurement system (which is clearly outdated) and the grossly imprecise use of the term 'American'.
> To put it more succinctly: > - Unless there's a case of ambiguity, call people what they want to call themselves (allowing for language differences, of course).
There is a case of ambiguity. I've proven my point once again.
> - Find another cause. You're only satisfying your own ego with this one.
I know that and you don't need to get pissed off. You can call yourself an American, say you're proud of it, say you kick my ass, whatever. Only certain facts matter to me. They may be irrelevant to other people and I respect that.
Usually Americans don't have problems with their English units because they can boss the world around, but this time it obviously got you (and the rest of the international scientific community who sure wanted that orbiter to work right).
Come on, reason along with me. Suppose you're gonna measure length. You start with inches, go to feet, then to yards and then to miles. And they're all 'incompatible' with each other.
Then you're measuring mass. You have ounces and pounds. Please!
Metric can be arbitrary but at least it's practical.
The French designed it. The Germans started using it just after some time. Dear GOD, even the English use it!
You may boss people around but at least don't be stupid while you're doing it.
Oh, and by the way.... The term 'American' isn't quite right since you don't own the whole continent (ok, you're partially excused because you're country's called the United States of America and it's not very easy to find a nationality noun for that). At least stop calling your country America and start calling it The United States of America or The US.
Okay, this may seem like a joke but from the day the contest went up I've been trying to connect to www.windows2000test.com and I haven't been able to!
on the first one or two days the domain wouldn't even resolve, and then now it does but I can't connect anyway.
I agree with some ppl that say Microsoft gets bashed too much but in these cases they should be ashamed of even making such a server...

Try fixing your libs. Good luck
How can this happen?
