I was going to jump and buy it, but the summary proves a single point. It is a book that can be written in five pages. The rest is fluff and padding. There is one point that should have been driven very hard, and I am not sure it is.
Alternative medicine harms and kills, with examples. One I have heard is a story about a man with prostate cancer that is a slow cancer. He started taking herbal medicine on the side and... wamo the cancer turned virulent. The reason, the herb he took had a natural version of adrenalin, a big no no. How did they find out? He exhibited the same symptoms as another. Should they jail the "practitioner" ?
There are a lot more arguments, but it should be driven that the "practice" is full of people taking advantage of people in need
That is how Aistotle put it 2000 years ago. He also added that the reason Democracy is a good idea is because in a random pool of people the bad guys push in random directions depending on their needs. The good guys push in about the same direction.
The net effect in the long term is in the right direction.
>Read just about any scientific study on Management >practices; A-class managers are the exception and >not the rule.
The point was in the next line... crap managers employ crappier staff. If you see a crappy manager run...
>>Uni is a good place to hone your skills and >> rise to your potential.
>Wrong. University does not make you hone your >skills than any other endeavor. In fact >universities are not good places to learn. They >need to change their practices and teaching >methods substantially in order to be good. >University professors aren't even taught how to >teach; they merely lecture, and have grad >students do most of the more intimate teaching.
Right... Uni is a gathering of smart people. By the time you hiot that age you don't need "teachers" any more... you just need an environment with resources and intresting people. The bonus is that somtimes you come accross very inspirig people. You might come accross them at the barber or the bakery... but UNI is the best place...
"anecdotal evidence does not qualify as scientific evidence"
Can we drop the exceptions as evidence, otherwise I will advise you all to get a job and lottery money earners. They are a helova lot more common than the Bill Gates.
I will give you another rule of thumb
A class managers employ A class staff B class managers employ C class staff
If you are good, you will achieve in life. Uni is a good place to hone your skills and rise to your potential. Not the only way, but you almost definitely have gaps unless you go the Uni way.
anecdotal evidence does not qualify as scientific evidence
If you are very good, you will excel without Uni. Half the reason you go to Uni is to make your mind work in a certain way. It's like doing lateral thinking questions of trivia. After a while you get good at it.
You do math questions your brain conditions it self to think in a particular way. You cannot replace that by reading C++ in 24h
There are exceptions, but the rule is... go to UNI. You will meet inspiring people, you will learn cool things. 4 years is nothing out of your life, Uni is so much fun. Not the only way in life, but the recommended one
Hasn't it been hijacked by MS ? The whole point of openness will be undone in the next version and they simply will get a cut down XP so that the best they can do is look for hided excel Easter eggs
No such thing as bad exposure... You never knew him so you wouldn't have voted for him. Now a lot more people know him, and amongst those people there will be some voters. I recon he is in front on account of this
Don't worry, they will not tax you just raise the cost of borrowing, petrol, social security, dunkin dohnuts, transport, cost of education... In th eend you will pay the goverment and the middlemen
This is all good and great but what is the ratio fornew devices ?
I am impressed that there is a driver for that 300 baud modem that connects through the floppy port, but what about a driver for the latest all in one bluetooth printer ?
You guys are nuts... you keep talking "Tax cuts" as if that is the only way the goverment will take your money.
What about other ways to take money out of your pocket ? Like wages, petrol prices, social security contributions, monatary fluctualtions, interest rates, debt, debt, debt. Sure I wont tax your pocket now, but you know that road that belongs to you... I put a toll on it, that school... I make you pay more for it.
So rather than take it via taxes you pay through the nose or leqave the paying for the next generationS the S capitalised
Hey Guys, I have an idea that is a bit of a game changer. It involves netbook with a twist. How do I go about getting some recognition, especially a monetary one.
Anything up to half a million people have died depending who you ask. To that you add the fact that a country with a pretty good education system and infrastructure and medical system has been reduced to ruble.
Yea sure, you only see 3,000 people but the sons and daughters of that half a million will remember you for a while
Amm... If you don't care for this subject, you should never bother responding to begin with.
You are a closet nationalist. Your country has destroyed all evidence of a Greek community but you have a rational reason why that happened. The same goes for Armenians, now Kurds and a bunch of other cultures.
'ava nice day

The cost of educating a person is very high. What of the net import in technical expertise ? Often some of the very best students go to US, and end up staying and doing high end re-search. The US didn't have to pay to feed and bring up this person. If this person is 1 in 100, the US didn't have to pay and feed and educate 100 people and selectively keep only the best one without having to bother with the rest.
I would say that the US is getting the good end of the deal
No, for starters, with the exception of your small mind I do not live in America or the US if you like.
Second I did not say moderation is a sign of correctness. I am simply saying that your need to identify the poster is one of thuggery. Much like in your country where you can end up in jail and tortured for simply saying the wrong thing. Try saying Kemal is a twit and liked to dance in a tutu.
I also find it pitiful that the version of history Turkey is trying to portray is such hard work when the truth would have made life so much easier. Do it for your own sake.
PS: Today is Greek national day:-) So defending my country is not a bad state of mind
I am talking about the coding in your head. It is hard to work in imperial units by hand, or to keep it all in your head and relate he smaller to the larger units.
In the case of the metric system a young student will outrun an Engineer any day in mental arithmetic
Pzzzzzt... you may like to do you own revisioning, but your own goverment does not see it that way.
In fact I was wrong, there were a lot more, an agreed number after the treaty of Lausagne. This population was destroyed, where the Muslims in Greece have flourished and have a much higher education than Turks. Greece treat muslims better than Turks. They have Mosques and Muslim schools. In Turkey... everything Greek has been destroyed. History is re-written and Kemal forbid if you disagree...
How do you define "but never in the name of religion" when religion is what divides one group from another. In fact it anti religious stance is an attempt to suppress the religious forces.
?! You and I are of no consequence. Your need for identity is simply one of thuggery, an opportunity to perpetuate what is expressed in Turkey. Information on the other hand is of value, point in case you get -1 flaimbait after such an effort in typing.
PS: Look up the anonymous and their quest against the nut jobs Scientology.
