  1. RIDICULOUS on UK Government To Terminate File Sharers' Net Access · · Score: 1

Does the government really think it is possible to filter every single households internet use? They must be complete fools, millions of people have the internet, and many many billion megabytes of data are sent over isps networks each day, how exactly could isps or the government check each packet of data sent to see if it was illegal. The simple answer is it cant be done, and other reasons for not doing it are privacy acts, which basically prevent isps from looking at it anyway. Finally, people will just encrypt their filesharing, or use websites such as rapidshare to host illegal files until the file is reported as illegal.

  2. Like a brick on Is the Game Boy the Toughest Product Ever Made? · · Score: 1

Well not quite actually, unlike a brick a Gameboy or even Gameboy Colour/Advance is almost indestructible, I actually remember someone trying to smash one up, by dropping it from great heights, breaking various bits of plastic off it, and even after throwing it onto a roof and watching it come speeding back down to earth, the thing still worked, only after taking to it with a hammer to smash the screen did anything stop working, but even then the power and speakers still worked (obviously). The only thing that took it down was uncasing it and removing the chips!

  3. Hopefully on Software Tool Strips Windows Vista To Bare Bones · · Score: 1

Hopefully the next windows will be much much better than Vista, but as Microsoft are pulling XP from retail this year, I will have to be getting Vista for my new PC, hopefully there will be improvements, and i'll actually be able to play some older games otherwise i'll have to get an XP H.D too.

  4. Old Game New Game on What Is Your Game of the Year? · · Score: 1

If we were voting for old games, mine would have to be FF7. The amazing storyline, fantastic music and the sheer emotion you feel for the characters (hate, friendship, sorrow), made it such an amazing game for me. The only game in that series which really lived up to it for me was FF10, but 7 will always be in my memory. I hope Sqaure Enix re-releases 7, with better graphics, and possibly a slightly enhanced storyline with sidequests, but sadly the chances of this seem slim (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!) Ah well, at least I have Crisis Core to look forward to... As this is supposed to be for games released this year, mine will have to be Half Life 2 : Episode 2, the plot is really good, especially for an FPS (not solely about beefcakes killing each other for survival, or WW2 for that mattter), and the game has so many mods, Counter Strike being a favourite, that I just keep coming back to it.

  5. My Different Choice on Is the Dell XPS One Better than the Apple iMac? · · Score: 1

To be honest, out of these two, I would go for the Dell. Yes, Vista is a hard drive munching monster of an OS (no really, I mean this literally), which is filled with pointless features, and seems to have been made by a 5 year old with the attention span of a 2 year old. Also, Microsoft are abusing their monopoly, for instance, it is hard and sometimes impossible to network between XP and Vista, and Microsoft seems to be trying to phase out the older versions of Direct X, just to force people to eventually upgrade. I would say to get the Dell, and format the Hard Disk, and then install XP instead (This is of course, unless Microsoft produces an update for Vista which removes the junk you dont want, such as file indexing and the monopoly abuse of phasing out older Direct Xs, which they won't). However, I would also say: Why buy from Dell, when you can get just as good a machine, but for a lot cheaper, from some of the custom PC companies like Cube 24/7.
