I just bought one from eBay, and it comes with 256MB (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260592078382). It comes stock with WinCE, but there is a sub-$100 tablet now out that uses the same ARM CPU and comes stock with Android, which I am interested in running on this.
Or did anyone else notice the contradiction in these two sentences:

I think it is questionable whether basic or visionary, interdisciplinary (and often badly evaluated) research will be funded by private corporations.
But secondly, European companies need a culture of sponsorship, which has existed in America for a long time."

First he claims corporate sponsorship of research is not possible, then, immediately after he acknowledges that non-government-sponsored research does exist in America.
In fact, it thrives. You can criticize or castigate the corporate sponsorship of basic and applied research in America, but it is significant.
And she complains about race? Methinks the lady is a wee bit too race conscious. Shouldn't she be more offended about changing the intent and meaning of the story, rather than messing with skin color?
Then she concocts charged insinuations of racism ("But I had endless trouble with cover art...Not on the great cover of the first edition...but all too often.") but can only mention a single instance where the skin color of the character was changed on the cover art, and then only the *first* version!
Personally, I read the Earthsea series in college. It was entertaining but I didn't think it was all that great or memorable. I only happened to read it because a girl I knew and liked really liked the Tenar character to the point of adopting it as a nickname within my group of friends.
I was interested in possibly starting a WISP, since I noticed that there is *ZERO* wireless activity going on. I investigated the matter and found out the following:
1. unlicensed spectrum is limited to a small sliver of 2.4 GHz, no 5 GHz at all
2. output power is severely restricted legally (about 1 mW!!!)
3. no commercial activity AT ALL!!! you read that right, at all.
however, there are legal avenues of recourse, and the ministry of communications might have overstepped its bounds.
this is just about the stupidest solution anyone could possibly propose.
you want real diverysity in the airwaves?
how about expanding the spectrum to allow more voices to be heard?
20 MHz of spectrum for FM and about 1 MHz for AM is pretty thin, don't you think?
but nooooooooooo, that solution will NEVER be proposed, because that would require relinquishing feingold's precious gonvernment control over the airwaves.
this is actually my first comment ever on slashdot, after reading for almost 6 years. this proposed "solution" was just so over-the-top i had to say something!
I had a job last year and one of the engineers there did a bit of shopping on eBay. When I asked him what he was up to, he said he was looking for bargain prices on Cisco routers and other high-end equipment, which he would then snatch up, and promptly relist.
Usually, he had to buy in quantities and then he would relist in single quantity.
Speaking of which, this leads to another useful tactic. When selling, unbundle all your items (eg, instead of just listing a notebook, list a notebook, power adapter, external floppy, etc.). You will usually get a good deal more. And when buying, look for multiple quantities in one listing or Dutch Auctions. The prices are generally (but not always) lower, and then you can go and relist the unwanted items for a profit.
