I see you bought into the propaganda. The governments allocate a certain portion of the budget to GP expenses (ie: Doctors office visits). Which means, Doctors can only see so many patients before the budget is blown. Waiting room times have severely diminished thanks to Alberta led procedures. And because of caps, they can't hire more Doctors.

The Provincial Governments don't increase this funding when population grows - hence they kept saying it was 'unsustainable' (and run Provincial surpluses cause they can't count!). And people bought the BS. Too bad Slashdot doesn't allow attachments, because the Conference Board of Canada has some eye opening reports that contradict your memes. And links are useless, as the CBoC is a for-pay site.

They can skirt the 'uniform and rank insignia' rule that way - but it would only apply to Afghans that lived there prior to NATO invasion. They would then have POW status under the GC's, and would NOT be subject to torture. 3 Squares and a cot would be what they get for the duration of the 'war'.

'Crime Prevention' is a misnomer that has given police departments carte blanch to do many of the things we see above. The government must investigate crime, and prosecute those responsible in a fair trial.

I have yet to see a police or law enforcement that has 'crime prevention' in it's charter, because it is impossible. Just as 'preventing terrorism' is, or 'suicide prevention'. If someone wants it to happen bad enough, no law enforcement agency can prevent it. Giving them the tools to 'prevent' what got us here to begin with. Give them the tools to find out what happened. See! There you go! Because something is based on faith, does not mean it is irrational. If 'God' exists, he could have created the universe from the big bang to heat death/big crunch ether knowing what would happen in it's entirety or interested in seeing what happened in between.

Belief in a higher power does not preclude what we see with our own eyes.

"My personal problem with a major aspect of religion, belief in God, is that it rests on blind faith."

So does quantum physics. So? God still believes in quantum physicists, and many QP's believe in God. The double slit experiment may mean there is no difference between the two, other than 'why' the universe was created.

"Our society needs more reason, not less."
