Nope... SHARED means the opposite of what you are suggesting.
Shared = 1 piece of physical hardware SHARED by multiple users / applications
Distributed = Single users / applications load DISTRIBUTED over multiple pieces of physical hardware.
What about if I sent a friend a file over the phone, using a straight PPP connection? Let's say it's not music, it's a book. Or if instead of sending the book digitally I were to read it for my friend to record, or listen. Hey, why should a phone line come into it - if I were to say, read the book to my child?
Maybe AT&T should put a filter on us reading stories to our kids?
