I was asking how many are using it in a production environment.
I was also speculating why it exists.

I didn't say anyone is forcing anybody. The UNIX way is proven to work. KDevelop seems to exits because it can attract people coming from windows who know visual c++.
I don't have a big problem with it as long as I can still choose to use emacs/gcc/gmake/bash/grep, etc.. and I can with Linux - it's my choice!
It's all about choice.

To me, it's obvious how striking a resemblence KDE bears to M$'s software (in looks anyway) - go ahead, flame! At my work we use Solaris, gmake, gcc, the sun compiler, emacs, tcsh, windowmaker, twm - standard UNIX things.. this is the way development under UNIX has happened and (should?) happen. Question: Who here is using KDevelop at work for production?
If for instance it's written backwards, nobody will suspect anything until it's too late and it's out.. send it just before their deadline.:) How many copies do they print a day?
Brilliant idea! Well, through www.xenu.net you should be able to get a copy.. there's a page telling you how to get it (actually it's telling how to NOT get it because of "legal" reasons..:).. it surfaces here and there - like the decss source they can never find and delete them all.
Could be a comma as well: "WELL DONE, NOW APPLY FOR A JOB!" could even be a dot or a semicolon if you want to take it that far.:) I'm sure it's a matter of very little time until somebody finds the last bit. Someone should send them an email and complain that it wasn't any harder.. Of course, slashdot being almost pure raw collected brainpower, it was no match for us..:)

I'm not flaming KDevelop.

If you want to know about CoS, check out this link as well: www.xenu.net
Move to a country like Denmark, where hospital treatment is free for all citizens. :)
Funny as hell.. thanks for the laugh! :) Does anybody know what AI engine is running in emacs, when you do a M-x doctor ????
if it's not a comma or something.. Did someone positively find "ONE!N"?
