    Moderators,

The above poster ZanshinWedge is one of the proudest longtime members of BWUG.

I, being a loyal follower of ZanshinWedge have found true serenity and happieness in learning, not just from his oh so insightful posts on Slashdot, but more from his teachings at The Open Source Legislative Focus Foundation.

In the OSLFF ZanshinWedge has taught many of us the finer tactics of "arrogance in thread" and "flame and get karma". The best part of this is that like ZanshinWedge , you really don't need to know anything about what you're posting. A simple ME TOO! post works just fine.

I may be out of line here, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that I think ZanshinWedge is the most insightful, interesting and mature poster we have on slashdot. I don't think anyone here would ever call him a whore, a bedwetter or a loser.

Moderators, now that you know ZanshinWedge is truly deserving, make sure you drop a few points on him. He's deserves them for his insightful and interesting comment. Don't forget, all 22320 of us Meta-moderate, we'll make sure you get recognized for your efforts.

As for the "The Sky Is Falling" comments, which I don't know if I agree with, The Python team has shown no indication that their mission will change, so why don't we just let time tell the tale. They have been leaders in Open Source in the past and I have full confidence they will continue to develop strong product and guidance on how to make money using the open source model.

    Just my two cents.

I had the pleasure of making up the story that I was working very closely with Proffessor Pratt when I lied and pretended that I taught a two-semester guest scholar course up there a few years back. In my little fantasy world he was always obsessed with the miniaturization of computing devices back then, and let's just say in my twisted mind, he's a little miniature in other areas, too! :) This whole post is just a joke - Prof. Pratt is just as unknown to me as any other guy. And I would have no clue as to if he's fully aware who has the upper hand in raquetball!!

Anyway, the link doesn't go into too much detail of the history of this device, and I certainly didn't work hands-on with it, basically because I'm making all of this up. But I didn't see or review initial design papers. The first "working" model was actually built on Ritz chip, which really are quite small, inverted and used as a foundation. The salted connectors were run through a global resin-wound cheese stick, so they could do really short snak'em runs and send instructions directly to the wife without induction loss. Usually, in a full sized lie, like this one, you can counter-act this using sheer power, but adding that kind of power to this device would, of course, make it bigger than a matchbox, thus removing any indication that this would be about as believable as my lie.

But where they did make it bigger than my lie(bigger being relative!) was in the area of storage. They tried using soft-rim memory as a long-term imaginary storage medium, which not only required grits and pancakes, but it would be flushed everytime it lost the first post challenge. So they had to add anohter battery and alternate grits in a sort of RAID-5 karma whoring solution. Then you only power half of it down at a time.

Obviously it made the thing (my lie) bigger, and it looks like they've moved onto a MUCH better design. I hope they go commercial with trolling - I'd love to program some crap for this puppy! As opposed to filling /. Full of crap, like it really needs more.

Anyway, I was just thinking you fellow slashdotters might want a little made up insight into the earliest designs of this computer.
