  2. Re:Noone likes DRM on Bad Signs For Blu-ray · · Score: 1

Keep in mind, the source also matters.. anything made more than a year or two ago, you shouldn't see any improvement, because they're ripped from the same source, which was never meant to be blown up like that.. i find quite a few blu-ray previews on my ps3 aren't that great, a lot of film grain that makes it look at times worse than dvd... even with new movies, a lot of them are still edited for optimal 480i experience.. the very first harry potter movie looks worse on blu ray than it does on dvd, because a lot of the post-processing made things too washed out for HD. the later movies are better because they started working with HD in mind, rather than as an afterthought. now if you take a new movie.. at our store we're currently using 'i am legend'... it has much better quality and looks a lot nicer on the 60" plasma.. it was shot with HD in mind, the audio and visual quality is amazing.. as for the movie, i'll leave that to the judges.

  3. Re:Contracts? on Canadians File Class Actions Over Incoming SMS Fees · · Score: 1

No but a lot of companies will say they reserve the right to change the terms of the contract, if they do, usually there's a 1 month period where you could cancel the contract.. and they're required to give you notice, but it's usually a big document with a small blurb hidden somewhere in it about that. and they don't mention that you have a month to cancel. when i worked for sprint, (i'm a canadian but we had american call centers), there was a few changes such as increased rates of text messaging, changes to how minutes were calculated.. where we recieved notices that if they wish to cancel specifically because of these things, until x date, then we'd waive their early termination fee. was a very fine line.

  4. Re:Fiat money causes inflation in WoW? on World of Warcraft Gold Limit Reached, It's 2^31 · · Score: 1

One thing that does occur is there are things that prevent you from just hoarding money.

many classes have reagents that are required to do their jobs. mages need portal stones, hunters need arrows or bullets and food for their pets, priests and druids and paladins need reagents for their group buffs.

everyone takes damage and has to get repairs, more expensive your gear is, more expensive it is to repair said gear (gets very expensive if you die a lot)

consumables can get pricey, potions, bandages, etc... all these prevent rampant inflation, but there is inflation, and blizz ups the prices on certain items every once in awhile to account for it
