Youve been able to rack the blue and greys for a while now (i know yellowdoglinux sells rack mount kits, and it shouldnt be that hard to but OS X on them) I know you meant production models, but this is cool enough:-)
Terraterm is a free terminal emulator for windows, and has a plugin to do ssh. Unlike puTTY, you can resize the window(somthing that annoys me to no end with putty). In the non-free area, SecureCRT is one of my favorite ssh clients (also a very nice terminal emulator) with much better support for terminals than others (like decent ANSI support). In the not a terminal emulator area, Xwin32 is a nice Xserver for windows(hey, terminals arent great for everything). Also VNC is a pc-anywhere like app, that is free, and allows remote acess.
it might be missing somthing, but how does a RPM break on different distros? like the dependancies might not work but --nodeps and you can be done with that. After that its just wether or not *your* system has the right libs, something you would have to do on any distro. Ive dealt with many rpms on my machine(which is a slakware box) and not had any troubles. So they are ignorant, get over it, Install it, and make a cool ass movie.
like webdesigners are the people who still try to support level 3 browsers, still use the font tag instead of CSS beacuse there is better browser support, and somtimes avoid frames beacuse of support. I think that as long as *someone* uses a non-IE browser, people will still stive for compatibility
its most likely beacuse GSP is really advertised with Apache Jserv(a rather old product). JServ is soon to be replaced by Tomcat which offers JSP and servles support. Also in the domain off cool server side technologies, check out Cocoon( its part of the apache project). You can completely seperate logic, content, and style. GSP isnt that bad of a product(its an implementation of JSP), just thats its a little bit fragile.
its an alternative implemenation of the Windows API. Just like cygwin is not an emulator, its a unix compatibility library. I suppose there is a fine line between the two, i think the term emulator should reserved for a more complete, lower lever system (for example snes9x is an emulator, it does *everything* that a nintendo does, from bootloader to hardware). Wine is just a replacement for some dynamic libraries distributed by microsoft.
i have to agree, it did seem to be less of a benchmark and more of a feature comparision. Oh wait, it was a comparison of their features. I think that the author considered and discussed most of the issues that developers face with databases on the web. While it wasnt as scientific in the benchmark arena, he did adequently discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each database
Not it may not have been a big contribution to go the moon, it was the getting there that was. All through American history, and important innovating force has been government research. Just think of the things that have come from their research: the internet (not al gore, DARPA), materials research, and more. It wasnt the trip to the moon that mattered, but the stuff they found on their way there.
From what i can tell, you can get updates to only IRIX 6.5. Thats very cool, but at least at my school we have several indys with irix 5.3, and not any plans to upgrade them. Right now they make greate paper weights(well they are a little big, but) so if/when NetBSD finally comes out for them, you can bet it will be put on them. On a side not what else *can* you put on a indy2( mostly r5k and r4.4k)?
I see they charging per license, and then a Client Access License for the NT sever that houses the apps. Thats the thing that *really* pisses me off about IIS is that you need a CAL for the maxium number of simulanioues clients.
Authorize.net is very easy to use, and offers all of the services that you want. i belive that they do a surcharge system for payment. the implementation is very simple, just a action that points to a https site.
Ive written about this before, but no one replied to me. Lemme try again. What if you downloaded say the first 30 seconds of the song, the did a FFT on it. Take your reference (the one you took off the cd) and do a FFT on it, then compare the two. They should be very similar to eachother, and you should be able to crrelate a match. Would this work?
bero (of redhat fame made somthing very like this, to the point where the names were the same). Its at ufo.sourceforge.net.
IMHO, bero's had some significant shortcomings(namley, no one but him ever got a project) but i know that the two sites overlap(i.e. bero is listed as mainainting a package on his, while the package is open on the other.)
Im not a sendmail master, but couldnt you make your own rewrite rule that matches mail from.ar to you and then rewrite it as a bounced mail? not a sermon, just a thought.
My school has a setup similar to that, a few students maintain all the unix machines and keep them running. There is a school network administrator who watches over us, and things generally work well. Email me if you want more info

The ATRAC video onto a minidisc is cool, but are there drives out for computers? or what can you do with it once you have the data. Do you have to use a Firewire link to a computer?
Minidisc is pretty well established as an audio standard(or rather a medium), and its been used a bit for multitrack recording. At one point Sony promised data Minidiscs that could hold 250mb of stuff... but i havent seen any. Anyone out there seen it?
Why bother to fake it :-)

The 2.4 kernels have really cool new routing abilities that do what you want, however it shure seems to be a while off.
