What is "another service"? Any suggestions? I would love to use one...
I've turned off the typo settings in opendns, but I'm still stuck with the google issue.
I thought I'd mention that I am successfully running 4 monitors on 2 nvidia cards with Ubuntu 8.04 - a 8600 GT and a 5200...I did have some trouble when I first upgraded - only one card working - but by doing a full reinstall (not desirable I know, but fortunately it was on my todo list anyways) I was able to get it working no problem...
This raises a question that I've wondered for awhile - is there any good reason to NOT use prepared statements and bind variables? I mean, even if I'm required to generate a query on the fly, I still use a prepared statement. It provides a nice separation of "code" vs "data".
Recently I was attempting to explain to a relatively novice programmer what a SQL injection attack was (her application had been flagged by a scanning program for potentially having them.) We went round in circles, until I realized that she had never considered building queries dynamically - and used prepared statements for everything. I was rather surprised - it seems like it's normally the other way around.
If by "from Carnegie Mellon" you are implying that you're still in the pittsburgh area, try looking a little bit south, in WV. I have seen multiple postings in the Morgantown and Fairmont area for entry level positions. When I used to drive from Morgantown to Pittsburgh (right near Carnegie Mellon) I could do it in just over an hour (non peak times). Something to think about.
Certainly.
This is new. Very exciting. Thanks.
