Mac is not a platform for choice. You have 1 hardware manufacturer that can legally ship the OS. You can't complain when that 1 manufacturer makes a decision you don't agree with -- thats the nature of being locked in to one company. Thats not necessarily a knock on Apple, they make high quality products because of it.
As a former 3rd grade teacher who led 3rd & 4th graders to repair and take home computers from our old computer lab, I second the hands on approach.
Here are some ideas:
1. working harddrive without the cover for demo, dead hard drives for kids to touch.
2. Marbles and a pipe network to demonstrate how information flows over "Packets".
3. Build, or do something. Develop some games to simulate network behavior (modify hot potato, or telephone). Or Build a model of a website. Remember kids have imagination and dont need things to be as realistic as a adults. A box with a print out of cartoon network, for example, and little lego blocks representing servers would be fine. Help them connect personally relevant things to the tasks you do.
4. Don't hold back on the skills needed -- the idea is to stress the need for reading, math, and technical writing. Talk about what you liked to do as a kid -- help them make connections.
Doesn't sound like that's what the OP meant. I've run into this before when I had XP -- windows would complain that I didn't have antivirus -- and no you couldn't turn it off. It would warn about my unsafe computer every so often. Some free AV software I used on occasion back then was not recognized by XP as being an AV program and the warnings continued.

Correction : After careful consideration of how much how much our sales have dropped since the Amazon Tax, we have decided to stop collecting NYS taxes.
What are our options? Aside from Google (again?) for text. Where do we go? How do we fight this?
Options I heard include: starting your own local NNTP, paid services like gigagnews, writing to Andrew Cuomo (NYS Atty General who started this mess), Switch ISPs to who?
Someone help with action points please? Last thing I want is more censorship in America.
