I realize that what im saying may be a late post and probably not read by most people, but im going to say it anyway. I simply don't think MP3's are harmful, let me explain why. I myself am a criminal, i guess, i download mp3s, but this is the twist. I listen to ALOT of punk rock (it's my thing, i realize it's not for everybody...anyway) after i download a few mp3s from a band, if i really like them i usually go out and buy the cd. I support the bands i like, i realize not everybody thinks this way, but if you really like somebody's music, you'll support them by purchasing their CD's because if you don't, they may not make anymore! Sometimes the best way to get somebody to do something, is instead of FORCING them to buy your stuff, let them buy it on their own. A prime example, the band NOFX, now this was a while ago and i don't know if it's still this way, but speaking from the past, they had a link to an MP3 archive with EVERY SINGLE album they had ever put out in mp3 format. i could have downloaded their newest cd, probably, but instead i bought it. Maybe im a dying breed, but i know there are more people out there like me. Sometimes i worry that mp3s could hurt the music industry, but then i realize that up to this point, i think it has only helped it. Although with the release of portable mp3 players(Diamond Rio), and portable cdplayers that can play mp3s (mambox), maybe im wrong.
i think it's great that more and more games are being released for linux. I personally think it's something that is really needed. I mean, alot of people who run linux may not be interested in the gaming aspect, but with the recent rise in console and PC gaming, it's becoming a more and more important aspect. I mean, more games == more users == more support? At least, that's the way i'd like it to happen =).
well i don't really know much about this movie, but ANYTHING done by anybody related to monty python HAS to be good. I mean... just think about the holy grail. =)
I still don't understand why the companies feel it neccessary to store all that information on it server. Well i would be worried but, im too broke to even have companies offer me creditcards, so i guess im safe for now!
ok, just to make sure i don't get off on the wrong foot here, i'll say that i love mp3's as much as the next nerd. Although, i think that the things they are trying to use to play mp3's nowadays are getting a little out of hand. The other day, i read an article about a watch that plays mp3s, and now an addon for gameboy? I think that mp3s should be left to computers and portable mp3 players myself (and hopefully CD players than can read mp3 cd's in the future), i didn't even know a gameboy was powerful enough to play mp3s (maybe it's not!). Another thing to note is that Gameboy doesn't even have good speakers (but i guess you could use headphones.), anyway that's just my two cents.
