I'm not surprised why a lot of US citizens never go outside it's country. What are you afraid of? read the news... our dollar sucks and we have credit card bills out the ass.
you should also consider that fact that the two most populated nations - India and China - are taking to the roads in vast numbers. that is more new drivers hitting the roads every day and they need fuel as well. those nation's growth alone is going to keep driving up the demand / price at the pump for everyone around the globe since they have the largest potential for future auto sales. it is no wonder the oil companies are making so much money for the simple fact of how many on his planet use gasoline everyday. let us also face the fact that all modern gov'ts make revenues from fuel sales (taxes at the pump and income taxes collected from the oil corps) and therefore are extremely dependent oil. alternative sources would be great, but my guess is they will come in gradually so they do not upset the cash flow.
i would say... i guess if all those people promise never to drive a car, atv, snowmobile, etc - it's all good. FFS sounds like crap to me... bankrupting someone over a crackpot theory that you cannot prove - who is the real thief here?
i guess i will start taking notes from my Amish neighbors... until they blame horse, cow, and goat shit for methane emissions causing global warming. in that case i guess i will just dig a bunker and wait for the sky to fall.
military technology usually gets sold back to us in the commercial realm - see also GPS systems for one example. there are countless other toys and gadgets we all have used that probably came from battlefields of the past... or you could just cry and wring your hands more about our evil military.
i apologize for the redundant post - i guess i need to fiddle with the settings because i was not seeing my post at all - i am a/. n00b. i have been reading this site for a while and have recently got into the discussions.
i here ya on the military spending. we already were spending more than anybody else on the planet before we started putting down tent stakes in the Middle East. i seriously do not see us leaving anytime soon if Germany, Japan, and South Korea offer any history to our style of military deployments. i realize some jobs depend on the defense budget, but for crying out loud, the Roman Empire and British Empire should at least give us a hint to what lies in our future if we keep extending ourselves. who knows, maybe China will takeover that detail too - outsourcing world conquest.
yo dude - as someone that has survived an armed home invasion and the authorities taking 40 minutes to reach me in suburban Toledo - i am totally against gun control. ya the scumbags took my tv, vcr, stereo - fine. when they came down the hallway and realized i was armed and ready to defend myself they turned tail, dropped their knives, and ran. they were never caught to my knowledge. i seriously doubt they brought their knives to help cut the turkey in the fridge.
we already have 20,000+ gun laws on the books and crooks still get them. if i remember correctly gun control laws is what got those innocent folks killed at Ruby Ridge... something about a shotgun being sawed off a millimeter too short.
how is a 2.9% rise in spending a cut? funny i heard some senator whining about the "draconian cuts in Medicare"... instead of increasing the budget by 7.5% it is going up 5% per year. my math says those are increases. if he reduced spending by 2.9%, then, in my mind, that is a "cut". and people wonder why we are going broke.

plus the Clintons have shown many times over they are good at hiding the bodies. they don't need a special prisons for political enemies as they all just commit suicide.
i hear ya - unfortunately most folks see their parties as sports teams and cannot see the faults that exist within them as they are blinded by the letter beside their name. (R or D)
i am paraphrasing McCain here so bear with me...
'bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran' (from when he spoke at an American Legion)
staying the course - does that mean we occupy a third nation so we get an extra army on our next turn like in Risk?
Also, in money, Clinton is getting tapped out my guess Yah Lin "Charlie" Trie and Wang Jun have plenty of PRC / PLA cash handy.
i do wish Obama the best of luck defeating the machine the Clintons have built over the past couple decades. it would be nice to have a new face in the White House and have kicked around the idea to vote for him especially after last night's performance. more than likely i will go third party as i have lost faith in both parties.
first, i am one of those wacky Libertarian voters. i see both parties - take that back - they are not two parties anymore. pretty obvious they are bed fellows.
For example: Patriot Act bad! vote for me i am for 'change'. oh i am in power now... Patriot Act good!
War bad! vote for me and a change, oh ya i am in power now, the war aint so bad now that we are running the funding.
as heavily infringed that it is - i am falling back on the 2nd Amendment if necessary. The Founders gave us a Plan B if we have the spine. if reason is out the window, and a tyranny is truly in place, it is only a matter of time till civilian disarmament will happen like in much of Europe / Australia. once that happens we are truly vulnerable to their agendas. gun control supporters don't bother flaming me as i am a survivor of a home invasion that took the police a mere 35 minutes to respond to. i define gun control as being able to hit your target.
a few quotes from T Jefferson:
"No free man shall ever be de-barred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government. "
"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."
but wait a minute, American Idol is coming on soon and i need to go to WalMart real quick - you know priorities (sarcasm).

He's simply the poster child for incompetent government. man, Jimmy Carter is going to be pissed - that was his gig.

ya really! at least Clinton's 'aura' would have a few key people wind up with self inflicted head wounds and shit would get done.
