Clinton / Gore were banging the WMD drum loudly all through the 1990's. Iraq's invasion was going to happen since Serbia was seen as a victory. in 1998 Clinton signed a bill to free Iraq. the argument was never over the war but over what party was going to skim off the top of the war funding in my opinion. the Dems seized control of the Congress in 2006 and could have cut off funding - we are still in Iraq. you do not maintain air supremacy over a nation for 12 years (no fly zone enforcement) and not invade. we strangled Saddam economically, softened him up and rolled his forces, and tossed him onto the ash heap of history. anybody that has any war history under their belts knows there will always be an insurgency to put down after a nation goes down - see also the Werewolves in post WWII Germany. the reason they were defeated so easily is that era of warfare did not have its hands bound by political correctness, instantaneous digital media coverage, and a bunch of spineless wimps in Congress. Ike suppressed the media, blasted the Nazi remnants out of the hills, and prosecuted any that were involved via military tribunal. it is ugly nasty work, that is why it was called a war.

It would be much easier to believe the nukes are only for deterrence, that the silly stories currently used to justify the nuclear program. if i were an Iranian diplomat, i would make the following statement: "we have 150,000 US troops backed by another 200,000 Iraqi troops on one border. on the opposite border we have 20,000 US led troops with an unknown number of allied troops in Afghanistan. We have had a cold war with America since 1979, followed by and invasion from Iraq that claimed hundreds of thousands of our people. knowing full well we will not last a week against an invasion from the United States, i announce today, we are seeking nuclear weapons to defend our nation as our security is in question." i can see why they would be scared of us. frankly, if i were in control over there i would have the same attitude as owning nukes puts you in an elite club of the world. it may also prevent invasion via deterrence. my opinion has changed over the years - especially due to the never ending cluster fuck that is Iraq. i guess i see the WMD issue much like the 2nd amendment. need to defend yourself, use any means - keyword here: defend. if Iran wants the bomb, fine with me, but they need to understand the accountability of owning them. any terrorist strike using them would make Iran the first target of annihilation from the US, Israel, France, India, etc.
  18. Re:Dear MADD, on MADD Targets GTA IV Over Drunk Driving Scene · · Score: 1

as someone that spent 3 days in the drunk driver's school here is some clarification - as far as Ohio goes: .08 is considered intoxicated. you can blow under an .08 and still get a DUI. why? the law states "under the influence" not "intoxication". our law states that .05 is considered "impaired" or under the influence. this number was chosen due to the charade called the "roadside sobriety test". the only test the LEO gives that gauges levels of impairment is the magic pen test. they know that around BAC of .05 your eyes will tell them all they need to know. the finger to nose, walking the line, etc is designed to pad their evidence to gain a conviction. i had 3 people in my class that blew under .08 and still were convicted. during my situation, i passed my pen test, and was still arrested. my problem was i did not want to go to trial against a LEO that lives down the road from me. my lawyer said we could win for a mere $3000. i took the wreckless op route (reduced fine), and lost my license for 13 months. luckily my insurance did not go up. i talked to the Deputy Sheriff after the fact. he told me a few years ago i would have been let off, but since he now had a camera and audio recording device in his car, he was more or less forced to bring me in. if you are lucky enough to attend to alcohol program, they will give you tips on how to handle a roadside stop. for instance, you only have to crack your window and hand the I.D. out. i tried this on an afternoor pull over. i was sober. the LEO had a fit and threatened to arrest me. for not rolling down my window. this led to a vehicle search and inspection. by the time a second LEO showed up, he had calmed down, and gave me a warning. Ohio has recently changed the terminology to OVI. this pretty much covers anything with wheels and somehow includes canoes since that is a big tourist attraction. as i stated earlier, it is our new industry. to sum it up: wreckless op: $100 drunk school: $350 court costs: $200 attorney: $500 reinstatement of drivers license: $525
