I'm with baharir on this one. I don't understand why Lucas doesn't handle DVD like he did VHS.
Here's how it works: You release the first DVD as the 'first time on DVD!' Then a year later, remaster it for no real reason and release it as the 'see it again for the first time' version. Six months after that, add some new footage. Release this as a 'Special Edition.' A year after that, drag your feet in moving to the next new medium and do one final DVD release as the 'see it for the first time for the last time' version.
Thanks you for bringing this travesty to light. I know that when coding VC++, I can have Jesus on my side. With God, I understand the objects and classes better, because it looks like this to me now:
Class Deity { float God float Jesus }
Of course, God.Creation declares everything while Jesus.Resurrect restarts the application after seven days and seven nights. I'm toying with the Human class using Human.Adam and Human.Eve but since I'm on an Apple, things keep getting out of control when I introduce the Reptile.Snake variable.
Thank you for showing me how religion and computers go hand in hand.
That must mean I'm wrong. I mean if Asus makes one, who cares if Tyan, ECS, EFA, IWill, Gigabyte, ABIT, MSI, VIA, or any of the others don't. BTW, EFA makes a IEEE-1394 PCI add in board, but no one will buy it because the FireWire hard drives are kept in the Mac section of the store and Billy Bob (who got his free PC yesterday!) doesn't want the expensive card and software when he can get a Snappy for 100 bucks! Seriously though, things will change soon.
Not only that, but apps are not always cross-processor compatible. For instance, apps that run on a Nino have to be recompiled for an HP Jornada IIRC. This negates any cross-platform appearance that WinCE tries to give. Also it means software developers won't bother with WinCE, opting to design for the (superior and much user-friendlier IMHO) Palm platform instead.
Compaq and Sony are still a small percentage of OEMs for computer parts. Until Apple lowers their license fee for Firewire and it shows up on motherboards like USB does, it'll be heading down the dark path to oblivion. It's not Dvorak's fault Apple makes greedy business decisions too.
Firewire is a beautiful technology that could easily unseat SCSI for high speed transfer devices if only Apple would share it.
"You do not talk about Fight Club" was the line, and I agree with all of you about this movie. It's too bad these posts will be hidden under an avalanche of religious posturing. We're talking about movies. Made in Hollywood. With people who act. Not ancient scrolls. Anyway, if you liked the movie I highly recommend the book. It's different enough that you can still be surprised by some parts. They both bring up some interesting points about where society is headed and our roles in it. "You are not your fucking khakis."
