The idea was to make a joke about how although Slashdot is pretty anti-Microsoft, there's a veritable advertising campaign here for their latest product iteration. Irony, you know? Clearly I bodged it though...
I always wondered about stuff like that with EULAs in general.
What happens if you replace the EULA with your own terms before installing, and therefore never agree to anything they said at all? It occurs to me that the agreement not to modify the software is actually in the EULA, so what are they going to do about it?
Yes the mouse is faster and there are more buttons on a keyboard to bind to, but my bed and tv with the controler is where i want to be. Not having my hand and ass go numb in my chair.
This isn't a problem inherent to the mouse and keyboard, but with your desktop arrangement and posture.
I sit at a PC nearly 12 hours a day and never have my hands become sore or numb. You should definitely look into fixing up your desk or how you sit if your hands are getting numb.
I've played Marathon. It's an FPS where your home gets invaded by a consortium of alien races; you play as a green cyborg who can dual-weild and you take guidance from a female AI. Sound familiar?
That's an unreasonable expectation. If you fuck up for eight years in a row, you don't simply stop hearing about it a few weeks after you begin to stop.
I remember reading that although it makes you feel warm, it actually lowers your body temperature. As a result it's dangerous to drink it for comfort if you're trapped in very cold conditions. Is that true?
Sure, why not. Energy drinks hardly have any energy in them at all - just stimulants. Your typical energy drink has the same energy content as a normal soft drink. The only exception I've seen is Lucozade, which has far more.
Flamebait mod :(

Windows 7 Windows 7 Windows 7 Windows 7 Windows 7 Windows 7 Windows 7, just in case you forgot. But how could you? WINDOWS 7!
Not even Slashdot can shut the fuck up about it for five consecutive minutes, pre-order today! That name again, Windows 7!
Plenty of us, if the current poll is any indication...
Crazy, isn't it? You'd almost think we were on some kind of news discussion site where people just wanted to talk about nerdly goings-on.

The problem there is caused by the intense ionizing radiation inherent to a powerful reality distortion field.
Cromulent point.
Oh, that's the proper term? I just made it up on the spot.
You want a desktop on a 500 mHz computer? apt-get install xfce
Indeed! XFCE is running fine on my 500 millihertz, hydraulic logic-gate CPU. :)
Such an ugly term. How about Parahuman?
That same freedom which allows you to respond, "No."
Nah... That's a sort of distributed computing endeavour rather than a single supercomputer...
Yeah. Look at what Sweden uses their magnificent supercomputer for. Hopefully you guys won't go (further) down that road.
Nelson is not responding to ping
*Points* Haaa-haaa.
Maybe the EU will insert their 'bank card' into Microsoft's 'slot' again...
Please see this post for further information.
Except the people who weren't illegally downloading anyway. We get shafted and both of the other groups of assholes get something for nothing.
Pass.

It's a pretty good game too, you should get it.

Bolly! A Welsh word with less occurances of the letter 'Y' than the English equivalent. Astounding.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to watch the evening newyddion.

Yeah. Actually he's the CEO of Comcast.
Nice post.
