wft steve jobs? did you report this as stolen? are you filing criminal and/or civil charges? Are you really taking advantage of your company's incompetence? You already like to go all-gestapo in that fucking app store, but it's time for you and all your altar-boys in Apple to back the fuck down from the religious fanaticism, respect the press, respect developers, and stop disrespecting users with your "retarded customer confusion" pile of shit. The people I feel most sorry for are the intelligent, independent, Apple employees who are in crisis mode and daily thinking about publicly screwing you over, along with your madness. THIS is the reason they threw you out from Apple in the past, Steve. And I tend to think you sorta want to see if they'll do it again, hence all of these shenanigans. I hope this becomes the magical and revolutionary mother of all streisand effects, and that it comes at an unbelievable price.

How does working short term memory interact with LTM and how does Miller magic number show up? How can the system understand that "john is a wolf with the ladies" without thinking that john is hairy and likes to bark at the moon? I could go on but feel free to fill in the blanks. True. Yet, my point still stands. QWERTY is sub-optimal for today; and there's low probability that it will be obsolete anytime soon. --> Historical, accidental, political, and economic reasons play a huge part in setting up which technology will become de facto standards. And while I'm getting the heat here in this thread, I think that that expression that theora (or other open video standard) will win if it's technically better is seriously naive. There's much more to that than technical excellence.

AND perhaps that is the single extra step that frustrates complete newbies to linux. They see that ugly shit, and have to find out how to save their computer, then after a while go back running to Redmond's heart. I've seen it happens so many times it disgusts me. Why won't linux ever compete? For real? Nothing of the usual arguments, like "it is beautifully designed", or "just open the terminal and sudo gedit /blah/blah", or "don't like go build your own distro"; or "don't make it look anything at all like (windows/osX/anything else in the future the the masses of users become familiar with)", and other linux clichés I can't remember right now. The only really ugly stuff I believe people buy (and pay loads of money for) are Panerai watches and that effing stupid Vertu cellphone.

Anyways, this is a moot issue. The only shot linux has for major adoption is, IMHO, brought to you by the "Non-Evil" corporation.
