Just look at how people run to SciTech Display Doctor (for example) as soon as it supports linux. 100% commercial. People care more if their latest video card works than about some abstract philosophy.
Also the forward and backwards arrows at the top of articles do not filter (I am still getting Star Wars stuff even with it filtered out) -- the filter only works on the index.pl page. I guess I could just change how I read articles.
These new features are really cool! Now if there were some way to change the color scheme...:)
BTW, the option in preferences to choose the default posting type doesn't work and never has. If I choose HTML (it is listed twice for some reason) it shows up as "Plain Old Text" when I am on this Post Comment screen. I don't think it is actually "Plain Old Text" though because I am able to post HTML tags and they work.
I was thinking how lucky the person who happened to register mp3.com was and out of curiosity I checked to see if mp4.com was available: every 'mp' domain up to mp13.com is taken!! lol!
Unfortunately, stock price is not based on reality. Amazon.com hasn't even made a profit yet their stock is soaring!! The stock market is sort of like a casino game..
A "significant number" of UINs are invalid?? I'd say nearly all of them are... Everyone I know that has tried ICQ has since deleted it (but their UIN number is still in the database). ICQ is just another fad that goes away as quickly as it appeared..
What exactly is so great that the GNU tools have that the BSD ones don't???? I've ask this to a number of people who prefer the GNU ones and they don't know the answer. The only thing I can see is that the GNU 'ls' command supports ANSI colors. (but this is a feature I don't use)
It is clear Europe is already well ahead of the United States in Open Source utilization, culture, and awareness.
Clear??? To whom?? I don't agree with this at all. The amount of software being produced is about right considering the populations of the US and Europe. Maybe it just people from the United States (of which I'm one of) don't hear much about Europe and the rest of the world in the news, since most of the news and television is US-based.
Microsoft's software is less common in europe due to good ole fashion european nationalism. Similar to the "Buy American" craze here in the US, people are less likely to buy something made in another country (not to mention the extremely high price on MS software).
Hey, filthy zero, stop wasting oxygen. You are a stupid sissy. You booze even more than a butt-licking arse-dweller. Slimy dumbfuck, fuck a failed redneck.
I have debian on my home machine, and this line suprised me as well. I use debian because it is well-built, not because it adheres to some political platform. This is one of the reasons I'm running FreeBSD at work instead of Linux-- the licensing. And don't give me that crap about selling support. Yeah, right.
To summarize, this makes me question how "open" Debian and the rest of linux really are. Your speech is free as long as it is our speech, eh?
We are probably still paying for Vietnam... you know, with the national debt and all. Although I guess most of that is from Reagan.
Bwahahahaha! Since when has our government followed the constitution?? It is just a decorative piece of paper to them!
Like anyone would volutarily listen to Tom Petty anway! haha!

www.slashdot.org/index.pl is the URL you have to use. I think the default is index.shtml and that's why it doesn't work.
I THOUGHT I had Star Wars filtered out! Argh, I can't escape!

Also that program really starts thrashing around when you are getting a lot of accesses. It would kill slashdot's performance.

Enough buzzwords for ya? This guy is a master at saying nothing!

DOSEMU
The gnu tools definitely need to be redesigned and rewritten, but in C not perl!!! less bloat not more! :)
..until you get some hard facts, not rumours. No amiga post ever posted on slashdot has come true (and there have been dozens).
Amiga is a dead platform, and the rumour-mongers need to get on with their lives (perhaps move their energies towards free software)!
Why? So lynx can have popup geocities spam too? :)
What?? Not Linux??? Heretics!!! Burn them!
Linux could not be used for the OS X kernel because of the GPL license. The BSD license allows anyone to use the software.
Seriously, this kind of behaviour is what we should expect from free software's two largest egos.

Lying arse-dweller,
