  8. EThePeople = Blatant Self-Promotion on E-The-People petition against overly-broad patents · · Score: 1

Perhaps. But the people accessing the site can make their own petitions also, so it isn't that bad. Very few of the petitions have more than 20 signatures (except of course the ones that get posted on slashdot) -- it hasn't been a very effective forum so far, but it could be...

  9. What license is it? on IBM Alphaworks Jikes Parser Generator released · · Score: 1

"Open Source" doesn't mean anything to me. Is it a BSD license, GPL, ?? Or some other legal mumbojumbo thing like NPL or QPL?

PS: Will I get sued for not putting "TM" after the words Open Source?

  12. blizzard on Sierra recalls Game on Account of Integrity · · Score: 1

Uh, nearly every game these days has a free beta. Even some microsoft games! Blizzard is lame, unless you like having your registry sent around the internet w/o your permission.

Not to mention it takes at least 10 seconds for the page to render, locking up netscape in the process :(

  14. I agree. on Sierra recalls Game on Account of Integrity · · Score: 1

All their adventure games were that stupid "guess the right keyword" or "go through the maze" type crap. No thinking involved at all. I guess they wanted to make money selling Hint books or hint hotlines.

I hope that Yahoo-like script includes broken link checking and removal. I know the "real" Yahoo's sure doesn't. I think it is because they want to advertise more links than they actually have (at least 35% are nonfunctional). I also hope it adds new links faster than the "real" yahoo!

PS: Stephenie Seymour is probably the worst looking of them all. Look at some of the other models.

  19. certification on Another Linux Certification Program · · Score: 1

Soon you are going to be required to have various certificates to get a linux job. Now you can still fake it "They aren't any certification programs for Linux" but sooner or later the suits will find out that there are, and you'll be unemployeed unless you are a "RedHat Certified Engineer." Just like today for example, even if you know how to work on a cisco router, you still have to have a pricey cisco certification before anyone will believe you. It's all a scam.

  20. Corel Draw? So what? on Corel Draw Linux Port by End of Year · · Score: 1

What good is Corel Draw? What is it supposed to do? I know someone who uses Corel Draw in Windows, but they don't do anything that I can't do just as easily in Photoshop (or gimp)... Not that I'd use it anyway-- I try to avoid binary-only applications when I can.
