Was I the only one expected some kind of innuendo there, or do I just have a dirty mind?

Dirty mind if I told you I balanced it on only 1 "table-leg"?

I totally agree - not wanting to deal with swuts all the time - I use a board under either my macbookpro or my dell laptops...

Basically it's a hard thin board that was a place-mat for a dinner table.

I wish I had taken pictures of the computers that were in a machine/welding/fabrication type of shop. We had just a regular maintenance call to clean them out every 12 months... (they needed it every 3.) The entire inside was coated with 1/4 inch of a fine rust colored dust... it was REALLY unbelievable the machines were running so smoothly... it was the only tech clean-up job I've done where I ended up just filthy...

This is what has kept us from 10.5... we upgraded from 10.4.x about 2-3 months after Leopard launched.

We ran into issue after issue of this exact same bug. We even ran into this in our Apple Training - was great watching the trainer think nothing was "officially" wrong. Seems for us that it was when we did screen sharing (during training) just 1 computer connecting to the server would cause the crash.

Now - we have purchased servers that only support 10.5 - and we haven't had a SINGLE issue with AFP crashing - it isn't hosting home folders for OD - but it was setup as a file share for administering tests - we ran for 2 months of testing without a hick-up.

Either way - that was a long-winded reply to us really just crossing our fingers 10.5.3 fixes the AFP - we like a lot of the new features - but having to reset the servers 2-5 times a day due to AFP crashes is completely unacceptable.

What mac? I have a dell it's running terrible on (but it's my fault - and I am backing up to wipe it out - I'm also copying the game over now to the vista in my bootcamp on my macbookpro. :) Hoping that runs it better lol...

There are a few things I find myself hoping for in AoC.

1st - as I've gotten a bit older (Yay... 30 in a week... And yes I know - 30 isn't old... I said older...) I have far less time to play MMOs. From what I understand the leveling time in AoC (when compared to other MMOs) is far less to get to top level. (Last I heard from beta was about 3 days of /played time to get from first to last level... and this didn't change for release.)

2nd - raiding for me isn't an end game solution. Yeah - I played WoW - did the grind to level 60 - went on a few raids to MC - then quickly realized the amount of time I would need to devote to sitting in the same dungeon OVER AND OVER AND OVER to get the gear I wanted. Only to find myself signing up for raid nights in the next tier dungeon to do that over and over and over. (And yes - I understand they system has changed now that BC is out and it is better - but what do you do...)

That being said - raiding dungeons cannot be the only end game for an MMO... And if that is - all you get is a group of people who max out their gear then sit in the big cities doing /flex over and over for people to see how cool they are. I am waiting anxiously to see if AoC will pull through on the city siege aspects of the game.

Having a player city you and your fellow players get to build up and have to defend against attacks is something I would love to rally around...

And my experience is completely the opposite. 6 month old Dell - 6 month old MacBookPro - really the same computers spec wise. Vista is sluggish as hell - boots like crap. Both have been reinstalled cleanly about 3 months ago.
