Thats our colleges little introduction to the program. It's part of the IT department currently (www.it.rit.edu) and they dont' have all that much explanation currently. Basically one or our professor's was big into game development and after starting it as a concentration in the IT program has branched it off into it's own degree
i would think this would apply to anything and not just applications. That being the case a lot of website places have had this around for a while. Angelfire (www.angelfire.com) at least has had it there since '97 if not earlier
Yup and the company i work for (which does embedded devices) has used both vxWorks and linux on products.. It's kind of a tossup on which one is preferred they both have their pluses
I've been using Kane's implementation on Netbsd for v6 tunneling for a year or so now the NT/win2k driver MS has had out (albeit in beta) hasn't had many problems at all Install tends to be annoying though (most users don't like having to reg hack their systems to get network connectivity on v6)
Cept if I remember correctly the monkeys go crazy and are terminated

Didn't know that actually Where I had referenced it being illegal was from the article posted on CNN about the ebay case so I didn't have an exact section/article to cite

Do you understand the concept of a bribe??
That is basically what it comes down to If you sell your vote (and I'm talking about showing your vote to someone I mean taking money in order to vote how someone else tells you to) is called a bribe
bribes are called illegal comprehend that?
well if your not too lazy look up state and federal voting laws personally I don't feel like wasting my companies time to satisfy your anal retentive whims
This article: Person organizes votes that constituent was not going to use. Sells this vote to highest bidder. Divides cash to constituent. (Cash for vote bribe)
eBay case: Constituent sells vote to highest bidder. Recieves cash (Cash for vote bribe)
Soo there is one minor difference theres no middle man in the second case.
And to respond to your saying I didn't cite jurisdictions it doesn't especially matter since it is Federal laws that are violated and on top of that local state voting laws are violated too. You cannot sell or attempt to sell your vote to any political interest It's just wrong and should remain that way. To allow this would basically to be allowing the buying of leadership in our country. That goes against the foundations of our society
Whether you agree w/ this or not oh well I dont' really care
Actually I did read the article before posting this And the same thing still applies. The only difference is that in this case the person has managed to come up with a minor work around that will keep him from getting caught immediately Overall it's still illegal the person is still basically taking a bribe (cash for vote).
Our ability to vote is one of the rights and to capitilize on that for cash is just fucking stupid
I have found that when assigning projects it's easier to just give them a goal and let them decide how to do it. For example given that one of my professors just wanted us to code something we felt was to our level of programming. Not a bad idea really since what ended up happening was each student coding a program to their level and then expanding a little on it as they learned. A lot easier to do this then to have some students be bored w/ an assignment and others strugling to finish it
Not really vaporware Just hard to order. I reserved my player (MPTrip) in advance and it took about two or three months before being able to actually order it But I got it eventually and rather like it
the MPTrip is ISO9660 so it supports directories w/ no problems. It actally functions better w/ directories since you hve the option to play an individual directory (a tough task find the directory though w/ the lack of names displayed)
If there is any reasoning in this world that post will be moderated waaayyyy up
Good job explaining the fundamental differences between the majors. I have to say that I have seen a lot of two year colleges and other specialty schools that offer basically the out of a box MCSE deal. This has gotten to the point of being semi annoying just since a lot of us are working on 4 year degrees and these certification schools try to level themselves as being equals of those degrees.
The thing is from what the article says there are two rent types You don't have to have network access and by the sounds of it these students decided to not get it but then ran the cable down to an unused port. That would by all real definition be stealing
The techies making laws part was more hypothetical then anything. I just see it (in my opinion of course) as the judges and lawyers placing laws on current technology and ideas as they have in the past but maybe the past actions in dealing with stuff like patents shouldn't be applied (i.e. ad banners, various portions of e-commerce that have been patented) Maybe, while these ideas would technically be patentable maybe they should have been viewed more as a public domain.
I think it is more that we have our own opinion (logical or not) of what makes our technology work best. The lawyers/judges have their own view of how it should work which in my own opinion is set more towards benifiting people commercially then really making a technology work to it's fullest ability.
I find all sorts of uses for the aol cds 1) Coasters for drinks (for the truly geek orientated household) 2) Target practice (for those computer using militia types) 3) playing catch with your dog (works well for short distances) 4) throwing at your brothers when they are stupid 5) One word Microwave
Since I wrote that after a long boring day of work I don't especially care
