The US military killed hundreds of thousands in the American invasion of Panema, and more when they invaded Iraq. That doesn't make them Evil though, they are a tool of a Civilian Government and have no say in what they do (just like a gun isn't evil). And no, soldiers can't just refuse Evil orders, the military destroys "Loose Cannons".
Satelite weather reports save lives every single year. Radar makes flying much safer. Scuba diving allows search and rescue of wrecked ships and inspecting critical infrastructure like dams. Computers are required to make portable medical scanners and test equipment. Building things out of steel allows taller buildings and longer bridges. We can get along just fine with a tech level approximating Ancient Greece, but only a very small handfull of people would prefer that.
Helping out Communist China can be done at the management level, helping out the American government often requires building stuff. You're blamin the wrong men.
Patrol borders for illegal migrants and drug smugglers, search and rescue, helping out at disasters, and guarding the borders are common tasks. The US Army also spends a lot of time keeping other countries borders open to American trade.
Soldiers take it personally when their co-workers steal from them, something about trusting your buddy to have your back. There are stories about thieves not coming back from military exercises.
If a company wants employees with a "Moral Compass" that includes working for the military, they should avoid advertising a company motto that points in another direction. A motto of "Do no evil" might attract workers who don't want to work for the military, and repel workers who WANT to work for the military. Who knew that corporate propaganda might actually affect the company itself.
The NSA runs a global phone/internet spying ring, and some people have suggested they occasionally hand over technology they intercept to American companies. If this is true, then American companies can steal tech, patent it, and sue the inventors to prevent them from using it.
You don't understand lottery math if you consider them an investment. You pay me 1 dollar, i give you 5 cents. Statistically you are better off filling a piggy bank with your change.
The purpose of the American nuclear power industry is to make bombs. Fusion reactors don't make bombs, so America will still need their Fission reactors.
You can do isotope seperation on equipment and concrete, it just costs more than dumping it in a garbage pile. If you reprossess everything then run the radioactive isotopes through a reactor you destroy everything radioactive, but that would make the subsidies for nuclear power politically unsupportable. With the cost reductions in solar and wind power I doubt we'll ever use Fusion power either.
The nuclear reactor in Japan exploded because the exposed nuclear core generated hydrogen, and that exploded. You don't need a nuclear explosion to have an explosion at a nuclear power plant.
The easiest way to cut reactor cost is switching to molten salt. Pressurized light water reactors have to be built like a tank due to the high pressure, and you need a massive containment building in case of leaks.
Unspent fuel rods (fuel rods not used) are less radioactive than spent fuel rods, because the U235 is converted to other, more radioactive, atoms. Holding an unused fuel rod won't kill you, holding a (recently) spent one will.
So you cross a border and open a bank account in a more permissive country. Now you can use your (foreign) bank card in Sweden for your needs, and the government only knows a bank account number and transaction records. In theory a foreign bank could have a banking app for your phone (crypto secured), and the local government wouldn't even know the transaction happened.
The root problem is money in politics. The sound of money pouring into their hands deafens politicians to the sound of voters complaining. Limit the quantity of money politicians can spend per voter, the length of elections (45 days), limit spending by others/corporations, and only allow donations to a politician from those who can vote for him/her.
1-The lifetime of the author should not be in the law. It should be a fixed (non extendible) term. 2-Government spends hundreds of millions of dollars per year protecting copyright, I think the copyright holders should pay that. Levy propery taxes on Intellectual Property, just like we charge taxes on houses to pay for schools and other improvements that increase the value of houses.
Molten salt Thorium reactors appear to have solved the safety issues. You can lose all cooling and even rip the lid off the reactor while it's running without radioactive fallout. If you blow a hole in the side all the radioactive stuff will pour out then freeze for easy cleanup. Also the fuel is a byproduct of current mining, there is four times as much of it as uranium, and you don't need isotope seperation to make fuel.
Rock caves might appear air tight, but they are not. Fractres in the rock will allow the CO2 to leak out. Also if we have an earthquake we might kill a lot of people when a massive pool of toxic gas pours out and settles over some village or town.
Hydrogen doesn't appear naturally, you must make it, mostly from fossil fuels. Carbon capture might be financially viable with subsidies but does it result in a net reduction in carbon?

The Right wants to make money, and making shows for the 1% is a small market to get rich on.
Government interfering in the free market is called Socialism. The Republicans are very happy with Socialism, so long as you don't call it that.
Or they could stop selling their water to farms at 1/10 the fair market price. Growing rice in the desert is crazy.

Given that the same people are still living in the swamp, i see no evidence of draining.

Women make up 51% of the population, they are the majority. Also they raise the kids, so how come all the kids get raised to oppress women?

Older nuclear plants cost more to run, so they need subsidies. The fuel disposal cost is also high (where they burn 5% of the fuel and dump the rest).
