I think, I should resurrect my old wind up pocket watch. There are not that many people that can fix them. Besides who uses that watch pocket on jeans anyways?

  2. My Casio Wave Ceptor 4756 on WWV Shortwave Time Broadcasts May Be Slashed In 2019 (qrz.com) · · Score: 1

My Casio Wave Ceptor 4756 still uses the WWV for keeping accurate time. Wrist watches on the hand have been on the downward trend in favor of cell phones for a while. So my alternatives are to use my cell phone or get some kind of smart watch like the Google Watch or the Apple Watch 3?

  7. My NVIDIA Observation on NVIDIA Driver Update Causing Video Cards To Overheat In Games · · Score: 1

I do know that in my computer setup that the 2 EVGA 275 FTW cards get cooled down unevenly at idle. I am running the NVIDIA 196.75 driver under Vista 64 Ultimate with SLI ana PhysX turned on. The first card runs at 163 degrees Fahrenheit and the other card at 123 degrees Fahrenheit with both fans set at 100% speed via the NVDIA control panel at idle.

I have caused my computer to lockup playing Mass Effect with the fans in automatic mode and running with the NVIDIA Real 3D feature. The temperature was 192 degrees Fahrenheit on the hotter card before the lock up with Mass Effect. However, World of Warcraft doesn't cause as much heat as other games. I normally see both cards range around 163 degrees Fahrenheit with no problems at all.

  12. Time Warner out to save the U.S. post office? on ISP Capping Is Becoming the New DRM · · Score: 2, Funny

So what this means is that I should stop buying my games online and have them sent via the USPS instead of Steam/EA Download Manager/Microsoft Live? (Maybe it will save the USPS.) Maybe I shouldn't install MS Windows/Linux/other OS due to the amount of bandwidth the latest patches will incurred? Maybe I should forget about MMOs? This is a signal from Time Warner that we should all go back to 80's and use the Atari console again. To the time when content came in a cartridge. (Which Warner Bros. did own Atari at the time.) All things must be shipped in a box and come with manuals big enough to be used as a door stop. To the time before Al Gore invented the Internet. BTW I should stop reading /. to save on bandwidth.

On the other hand I can joke here. Time Warner isn't my ISP and isn't going to get my business anytime soon anyways. Luckily a consumer still has good choices today.

I'll second CFEngine as a solution. You just have to get over the learning curve in deploying it and that's the scary part.
