November 1st of this year (2011) the House of Representatives voted on the bill "Reaffirming 'In God We Trust' as the official motto of the United States and supporting and encouraging the public display of the national motto in all public buildings, public schools, and other government institutions"

Population really isnt the determining factor that people are making it out to be. Economic freedom is what its all about and countries with lots of it end up with similar purchasing powers and standards of living. E.U. with its $30K/person, South Korea and Israel with their $31K/person, Japan and Taiwan with their $34K/person, Canada with its $40K/person, U.S.A with its $48K/person.
China is at $8K/person and there is nothing that they can do about it without becoming just like the rest of us. Does it matter that China will end up with the highest GDP if that doesnt translate into a higher standard of living for its people? 157 to 9 on the Democrat side.
Instead of reporting that (simple to find facts), they cut to a sound-bites of either (a) Democrats blaming the Republicans or (b) Republicans defending themselves from the accusation.

The final House roll call went 292 to 60, and breakdown by party is 133 to 51 for Republicans and 157 to 9 for Democrats. More Democrats voted for this thing than Republicans, in spite of the fact that more Republicans bothered to vote.
Yet the Democrats tell us time and again that it was the Republicans that deregulated the beast.
The really interesting part was that in June of that year, the House voted for a precursor to this bill that did not include deregulation of default swaps and that vote went 217 to 214 (Democrats went 3 to 206, overwhelmingly against the bill when it did not include default swap deregulation!)
Republican support tanked when it included deregulation of default swaps, and Democrat support grew enormously.. yet somehow the Republicans are to blame? Really?

Compilers emit instructions, aka machine code. The processor decodes instruction into micro-ops, aka microcode. Compilers do not emit micro-ops. The processor cannot decode micro-ops.
It wasnt that ICC didnt optimize for AMD. It was that ICC intentionally emitted code that crippled performance on AMD's. Intel was convicted of doing this in a court of law.

Now I'm not sure where you live, but in the state I live it seem to be rare for a company to either get approval to pay biweekly or perhaps rare that they make such a request, for I don't know *anyone* paid biweekly.
