Here in Europe we don't have a problem with terrorists or with muslims
The people that worked for Charlie Hebdo would disagree with you if they werent killed by fucking terrorists, and Muslims.
Europe has had a problem with specifically Muslim terrorists for literally hundreds of years you ignorant apologist twat. They also have a big problem with non-Muslim terrorists you ignorant apologist twat.
The only reason to open your mouth and be that ignorant is if you really dont give a fuck about actually saying things that arent demonstrably wrong.
Now that two citations for Buddhist terrorism have been given by the left, we see that there isnt really any.
People setting themselves on fire is not terrorism, and "mob justice" is also not terrorism.
Muslims also drink water. The fact that I also drink water does not make me a terrorist. If I set myself on fire that wouldn't make me a terrorist.
To be clear folks, this guy cited an act where a Buddhist set himself on fire in protest, and then pretended that it was terrorism. The only link, and its a horrible one, that this has to terrorism is that a Muslim also once set himself on fire.
So not only did this guy make the leap from protest to terrorism, he also made the leap from Muslim to terrorism. You lefties are the fucking biggots.
So the Republicans that beat the war drum against Iraq claiming that occupation will take a short while and could be paid for with Iraqi oil money were speaking gibberish?
Yes.
Doesnt change the fact that the "war for oil" clowns on the left are still clowns. Did you think that attacking something that you dont like, that doing that makes your wrongs go away?
I'd have said Cheney / Rumsfeld. This is some hard-core Right-wing shit.
No this is quite solidly left-wing thinking. It would be wrong if only the phones of minorities had back doors, but thats not the case here. Its for everyone. Fairness!
Further proof that "science" has ceased to involve the scientific method.
Most people know Dwight D. Eisenhower for his speech on the military-industrial complex. Its a tragedy that most people just know a sound-bite or two of the speech, however. This epic speech not only warn of the dangers of a military-industrial complex, but also of a scientific technological elite.
A excerpt:
Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.
In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.
Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.
The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded.
Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.
What I don't like about EU is that it is not ambitious enough - we should strive for a full 'European Nation'
I suspect that sooner or later the stronger members of the E.U. will find themselves preventing others from secession, enforcing your new "European Nation."
Maybe instead you shouldn't make the same mistake the U.S. made.
but I have never understood the assertion that our primary motivation was oil.
The people that have been saying "war for oil" arent saying something understandable. Instead of presenting reason, they are making a very shallow attempt to win over the listener on a purely emotional level.
Any drop in production within the middle east is a big win for oil companies that dont drop production, which includes all the U.S. oil companies.
Now that they have found out the users are right and start removing the bloat and bugs, all the users can [still] do is bitch.
Its a different set of users bitching. The first set of bitchers no longer use Firefox.
Firefox became the bloated browser for users that want a bloated browser. Possibly the worst thing to do at this point is to alienate the remaining user base.
Lets be concise here because you are blowing it right now.
You pay your ISP to deliver the packets that you send, to elsewhere on the internet.
You do not pay your ISP to deliver packets addressed to you. Only the senders of packets are responsible for acquiring their delivery. The spammers want to jizz directly into the mouths of anyone who thinks the receivers of packets pay for them.
It seems like nobody on fucking slashdot knows shit about networks anymore. They defend their pet version of net neutrality by ignoring network economics. A simple analogy is snail mail. The receiver of mail is never on the hook for the cost, because if they were I would be stuffing envelopes addressed to them right now. I would even hire some illegal aliens to help.
If you really want the internet to work the way you guys suggest, then your service plan would cost $100,000/month because someone that isnt a raging idiot would be slamming every ip address that your isp has with packets 24/7/365.
The internet can be a license to print money, or maybe the economics of it doesnt work like you fools think.
I gotta say, I just ran the SteamVR Performance test and was shocked at how poorly my A10 APU scored using their metrics. For fuck sakes this thing clamps down 1920x1080 @ 60 FPS with AA and AF in plenty of games (including "recent" Valve games), and when it doesn't then going to 1280x720 (which is fine) usually brings back the 60 FPS with AA and AF still on.
So I wonder if the issue isn't something imposed by inappropriate graphics API's (DX / OGL)..
Google, however, did not start that as their first business - they were already very rich,
..and you also cant build a street-legal car without a lot of money, and good luck getting approval for that new medicine you invented while poor.
You are just waving your hands, declaring irrelevant facts as relevant when they are not. You clearly don't know the how and why of business. Google is building ISP's because it has nothing better to do with the money, which means lots of folks also have nothing better to do with large amounts of money. The inevitable competition for which there is currently a demand is prevented by the State. The Statists have created your cable monopoly and now the Statists are saying that only the State can solve the problem that they created.
extremely high initial capital investment coupled with very low per-unit margins
Meanwhile in the real world, companies like Google wouldnt be erecting fiber to the home isp businesses if the margins were very low. Google literally couldn't come up with anything better to invest the money in.
The communities in which Google is throwing down fiber didnt have any rules in place to stop Google from doing so. Full stop.
Remember the first round of spin on the topic. Everyone that now defends Apple with the self-determination argument was a week ago defending Apple on the "create backdoor" argument. Their argument changes (because facts got in the way), the goalpost shifted (damn facts), but their conclusion remains the same (well how about that.)
The phone is insecure. Its entire security rests on a number between 0 and 9999. Dont give Apple a pass here. They dont deserve the pass, and playing make-believe doesnt help a single Apple customer.
As far as the whole self-determination argument, we are talking about a court order. Every single court order, ever, invalidates the self-determination argument. Its a dumb fucking argument.
If Apple goes ahead and does this, what happens to the code after the FBI has used it?
It doesnt matter what happens to it. it doesnt matter if the FBI then deletes it. It doesnt matter if the FBI then keeps it. It doesnt even matter if the FBI puts it on the pirate bay later so that every hacker has it.
Asking questions is not an argument. For instance, "If apple doesn't go ahead and do this, is this shitty insecure phone more secure?"
The problem remains that the devices are not secure. Full stop.
No darling, my point was all these "well understood laws" are not as well understood as most people think, and certainly not as clear cut.
When you declared something to be a law that wasn't even close to a law, your point was that "well understood laws" are not as well understood as most people think?
Let me fix this for you:: "well understood laws" are not well understood by you.
You are not most people and therefore you do not get to decide what it is that most people understand, and certainly not purely based on your own lack of understanding.
You were saying that pedestrians always have the right of way, and when its pointed out that you are full of shit your response is "that's exactly my point" ???
Pedestrians do not always have the right of way. In fact, they seldom have the right of way. Now go away you ignorant fuck that declares as facts things that aren't.
I've heard this crap before. Lots of times. All my life. It wasn't true the first time I heard it, and not true now, and it was never true at any point in between.

Considering the circumstances, it could very well be a zombie PC in a larger botnet being identified.

Are you following along?
Nobody can do anything about the devices that are already in existence
Wrong. The owners of these devices are able to destroy them, thereby eliminating their problem.
Should the government be able to force Black and Decker to build firearms? Should they be able to force Dupont to manufacture napalm?
Should a cake maker be forced to make a wedding cake for homosexuals?
If I run a child pornography store...
Your argument doesnt have to go to such extremes.
... we know that the progressives are fully willing to force you to make cakes for homosexuals..
If you ran a Heterosexual Wedding Cake Bakery
Anyone can run competing cable, but who is going to run more cable when there isn't enough market to support it?
Why are you worried about running cables to places the market can't support? Are you imagining some sort of fundamental "right" to cable television?

Im not big on unions but, this sort of behaviour is exactly why workers need unions.
During layoffs, only the most senior employees need a union.
Even if Steam+Linux gains some support they will still have to COMPETE against Microsoft.
No darling, my point was all these "well understood laws" are not as well understood as most people think, and certainly not as clear cut.

I've heard this crap before. Lots of times. All my life. It wasn't true the first time I heard it, and not true now, and it was never true at any point in between.
You are full of shit. Thats binary.
Works for Hillary
Only in 7 of the 57 States that Obama visited in 2008.
