I just use 1 box with an FM transmitter. The signal is spotty in some areas (so I just move the antenna), but I can use any FM radios almost anywhere in my house. I wasn't really out for super high quality. The box runs a modified version of tunez. I can control the box from any web browser on my network (wired and wireless).

How does open vs. closed have any effect here? Any changes made to the system would either be a workaround or a patch of some type. This means the solution has to be available.
In a closed system, you wait for the vendor to release the solution... you still have to wait for the solution to be tested in-house.
In an open system, you still have to wait for the solution to be released, and then you still have to test in-house.
So don't you still have to wait extra time either way? Are you waiting longer in either case from the time that the vulnerability is known to the public to the time you implement the solution?
My mother works for a local law enforcement agency. Over the weekend she asked me about the phishing emails and if there is a place to report them. She said that they recieve calls regularly from people that do not know what to do. Previously, they were telling them to just delete the messages. I suggested antiphishing.org.
Are there any other sites that would be more helpful (especially for novice computer users)?
I used to use Emusic. Their quality of service went from excellent to non-existant in a small time period. I couldn't download the majority of the tunes that I wanted. I think they had just been bought out by another company around this time. I waited a while, but eventually cancelled my subscription after getting no help from their support.
I have a Sony Vaio laptop and I was planning on buying more since it seems to work very well with Linux, but I don't think that I am going to be doing that now.
