Not only that - not doubt it`ll be impossible to surf/post anonymously. Slowly everything will be shifted onto it, and the `old` net will be where all the porn, warez etc it. Guess what will happen to that?

Well, there was one guy dead, from around the same area that Atta came from. Looks like a classic `we can do this - heres proof`. But the US government have said its not. Hell, thats proof enough for me. Its GOT to be a coincidence!
`Shop as usual.....and avoid panic buying` - Negativland.
Unfortunately my only attempt at using SMS in such a situation (Carnival, a couple of years ago) just showed how easy it is to saturate a network if 80%+ of the revellers all have phones turned on at the same time!
How about a method of converting speech into SMS? That way, instead of spending 10 pence on a 5 minute off-peak phone call, you could instead spend it on a 160 characters text message. Now thats progress!
How long do i have to stand in the front of the queue and make a big loud fuss before they change their mind?
Also, depending on where you live, you may be entitled to your money back. In the UK we often get shops saying its `not their policy` to give money back in certain situations. Fortunately, the 1979 Sale Of Goods Act means you get to tell them exactly where to stick their policy.
Moby? Underground? His most recent cd was the first one *ever* to have every single track licensed for adverts, soundtracks, trails etc.
I think you meant `michael jackson`. His early, experimental work with Cage and Riley is awesome...
oh yeah, make sure you remove the space which slashdot helpfully adds to URLS. its just before the equals sign. anyway, there should be no spaces in it.
Do you regret not calling PGP something like `Knife` or `Law`, so the clueless would perhaps be more likely to be aware of the fact that it could be used for good AND evil?
Why stop there? Why not blame the guy who created the HTML format. Or blame the US gov for developing Arpanet. Or Turing?
The word `algorithm` comes from an Arabian guy a long time ago...perhaps this will be used as an excuse too? Wouldnt be too suprised...
"So, anyone who wants Internet privacy under this regime must hide the fact that they are hiding data"
Or hide that data inside a file which contains multiple encrypted data streams. Sure, theres encrypted data in it - you can even decrypt one stream to show that its just something harmless, but how many other streams are hidden in the same file? Check out www.rubberhose.org.
Sesame Street has stopped the `bart is evil` website!

Theres been a bit of a hoo-ha about the fact that the accompanying booklet has stuff about telepathy in it.

What does a piece of badly written fiction have to do with...anything?
Such as www.rubberhose.org

On the downside, he looks *absolutely ridiculous*! Or is this some post-modern thing?

I`ve seen movies of 4x4 (which you can download, possibly from that very site) and it IS 3d!
The right to not *have to* carry a piece of identification if you dont want to.
GBA will support 3d as well as 2d games:

If you think the GBA isnt very advanced...well, its the most advanced handheld console around. So not very advanced compared to what?
Good idea (about `security`) - except of course that its possible to have `secure` (ie untampered with) emails by digitally signing them.
Lars, please, theres a time and a place for Metallica lyrics, and frankly I dont think its *this* thread on *this* site...
