You can be a vegetarian and still make poor food choices. Oreos are a vegan food for example. You can't judge all vegetarians by your friends any more than I can judge all meat-eaters by the 400 lb guy in the scooter at McDonalds.
Spending does not equal deficit. SS is still taking in more than it is sending out. You should examine the terms you are using before attempting to correct someone else.
That's why we have a representative democracy rather than a pure democracy. The Founding Fathers knew all too well not to trust the reasoning abilities of the "common man"
Of those three, SS and education are drops in the bucket. Not so much "sacred cows" as they are "red herrings". You want to cut the deficit? The military is quite sufficient.
It's not age that is a factor, it's the unwillingness to adapt to new things. I'm 43, I remember fondly things like my Commodore 64, my Atari 2600, and 70s 80s music, but I refuse to be stuck there. Times change, you either change with them or you get left behind. I find Twitter an interesting and useful way of keeping up with my friends, some of whom are thousands of miles away. We've even used Twitter to co-ordinate a get together of some folks from across the US.
Speaking for myself it's a cheap way of keeping in touch with a group of people I know that share a similar interest. For the most part we treat it as a glorified chat room.
Fine, stick him in with the general population in a military prison. Problem solved...pretty permanently.
A drill somehow equates to SWAT teams "that just stand around"
Drama queen much?
"SWAT teams that just sort of stand around," Where the hell are you that you see SWAT teams just hanging around on the street?
Of course, when *all* ISPs do this (and it will happen) how exactly do you vote with your wallet?

Better than anything you could come up with.
Your book is fiction. We have a representative democracy precisely because of things like this.

In fact SS is still (for the moment) operating in the black. So thank you for playing, try again.

Nothing in reality indicates that your 30% figure is anywhere near accurate. Maybe you are mistaking the voices in your head for reality.
Citation needed. Oh wait...this was just a typical hyperbole troll.
NPR? Really? It's the closest thing we have to an unbiased news source.
Considering you don't watch her or the channel, your opinion is even less meaningful than mine.
Well, guess what sport? You can fact-check Maddow and compare her accuracy to Beck. Guess who will win?
False equivalency FTL.
"Have you ever watched Maddow? Nothing but shill."
If you agree with Maddow or not her show is impeccably researched, which must be why she always gets the right-wingers frothing at the mouth.

I love Slashdot and it's armchair experts.
I'm sorry, what exactly am I submitting to? I wasn't aware I was being forced to use Twitter.
Says the AC without a source to his name. Bugger off.
As someone has already stated, Twitter has been running at a profit for quite some time.

Well, I'm not sure about anything else but they do have sponsored trending topics. So there is at least some revenue.
