Does anyone honestly think Apple cares about iPads being bought and given away? It's the advertising for the promotion and how the company uses Apple's brand and face it no company is going to give away free hardware without advertising it and making a big deal about it and in order to do that you need to use Apple trademarks so Apple, like any other company, will do what they think is right to protect their brand. Just as if some porn site was giving away windows discs and using MS' trademarks there is a good chance they'll complain as they won't want people thinking MS is partnering with pornography company.
This is no way stops you from buying an iPad and giving it away. It has to do with protecting their brand and will be more about the advertisement using their trademark rather than the actual act of giving away the device. Any other company wanting to protect their image will do the same thing.
There is no question over the legality of it. Aside form dekstops pretty much everything else is standardised. You either get hundreds of pieces of hardware that work perfectly with the software (VCR / DVD) or you get one / two variations on the hardware with software that only works for it. It makes sense because either way the user gets a consistent user experience. The reason it doesn't for a desktop is because it's something that could let you build your own and upgrade it.
That works for desktops but it sucks for phones. That is why Apple won't be going away and why MS wants to be more like them and don't be surprised if some sort of restrictions start showing up on Android.
It's not so much that a CS major will end up flipping burgers or that someone with just a high school diploma becomes a millionaire. It's the fact that the more people that have a CS degree drive the value of the degree down which is fine but the cost of obtaining it isn't exactly dropping. So yes it will become less attractive to get a CS degree. I'm sure businesses don't care because they can just ship jobs to another country. Degree or not most people aren't going to become millionaires in IT.
At least awhile ago Google Trends was showing that 'sex with sister' and 'sex with mother' ranking higher than'sex with girlfriend' and sex with mother was the highest ranked by far. Given what they said and what I've experienced on the net I'd say I've not read anything that's incorrect. Mind you I did only read the Time link.
Snesoid at least was based on snes9x which strictly says you can't make money from it and he did. That's a clear violation which, if I were the author of Snes9x I'd be pissed.
I've had the game since day 1. TBH, none of them look under age. It was probably a bit dumb not to change their ages to something a bit safer but if anyone mistakes Kasumi for a minor then please tell me where you're meeting 17 year olds that look like that especially given that 16 is generally legal in Europe!
No, I meant HD as in HD-TV. Statistically very recently (maybe even now) the majority of 360 owners still use SD-TV. My point being that while NIntendo's hardware options are boring they were good enough and not too expensive so the risks were much lower and I think they made the right choice.
What proof do you have that they're lying? It's complete guess work at this point. Though Konami did feel the need to iterate that PES for the 3DS would have region locking and if it were not optional why would the question even come up?
Do people really enjoy them? A lot of the companies still making 'monolithic' games are doing better than the ones pumping out short games with DLC or that rely on achievements to extend the game. Sure there are achievement addicts that buy / rent loads of games to have loads of achievements but can you call that enjoying a game?
The games people hold in the highest regard are the Super Mario games, the Zeldas, the Starcraft series, etc. They're games that are more 'old school' than new school and they make tons of money. Hell even Pokemon does better than most games and it's virtually the same grind that you played since Pokemon Red/Blue.
People just don't don't get a choice in most instances because companies refuse to put time and effort to make a long quality game so you're stuck picking the best amongst what you get. As a result a lot of games don't do that well and now publishers finding it harder to make money and everyone's happy to stay on old hardware as long as possible to keep costs down.
I think console gaming has been coming really shit lately mainly with Microsoft tainting it with the PC gaming mentality. It's now more acceptable to release shit in a broken state, we get less variety and more sequels. I think MS and Sony relied far too much on pushing the limits with hardware and need to keep their consoles around longer to help everyone recoupe their costs.
I don't think it's that impressive that MS is breaking compatibility for a a new disc format. I appreciate that they will replace the console for free but why should I go without a console for days or weeks for a software update? If gaming is so expensive that they just can't afford to ship games on multiple discs then I think they're doing something wrong.
I think they're also unsure what to do because the next generation will yet again be even more expensive and they realised they got owned by the cheap outdated Wii and I wonder if they can even afford to let that happen again.
Nintendo's Wii may not have been as exciting technically but they did the right thing and they were right in that HD was unnecessary. Even a year or two ago the stats were saying most people did not use HD with their xbox 360.
I've never commented on the video in the past and I'm already blocked? WTF, does Microsoft hunt down people they think won't agree with them and block them? I guess if you're losing your grip on computing you have to pull out all the stops to make it look like you're still awesome.
Seriously, anti-virus for your mobile? I think I will go with iphone once I'm done with my Android phone even if I have to pay out the ass I'm not running fucking anti-virus on my phone.

Are they in the kitchen making sandwiches though?
I don't think they meant obese women but actually you can find loads of fat women porn. Someone out there likes it.
Exactly. Real men don't run fashion shows or fashion magazines. If we did then at the very least there would be more exposed tits.

Yeah one game no one's played because it sucks and which was no doubt a failure which is why the idea of making DSi only games hasn't taken off.
THeir work experience will be worth more than some dime-a-dozen CS degree.
It's true everyone knows a CS degree will make you a genius.

True and sometimes you can take something that worked perfectly and completely change it and improve it.

Keep in mind that with globals sales the PS3 had just taken over the xbox 360 so they're in third place now and a bit desperate.

Any electronic device that connects to a network in theory is but Android does seem to be becoming the dregs of mobile phones pretty quickly.

The number of people that died on 9/11 is the same number of people who died in the twin towers due to planes for the whole year of 2001.
It will be the game or some third party package used in the game. It affects the 360 too.
