no they do have there own backbone.. the majority on the canadianisp list are resellers.. I think 4-5 years ago there was at least 5-6 resellers of just teksavvy.
You should really call them.. they can explain it far more better
everyone goes through bells (tax payers funded infrastructure) and yes the majority are literly resellers of bells backbone internet connection runing from bell and literly just do there own support and sell modems.
Teksavvy has there own backbone (hence the 200GB and $0.50 per gb over)
Just because bell maintains the lines does not mean your internet comes from bell.
this is why Teksavvy is so important in this argument because they are being effected..
Maybe I am missing something but if you want the control back to the people don't support them.. Teksavvy is growing fast because of this. They are taking on cable also
If everyone joined them (last time I called sounds like that is what is happening) then the balance of control would change. Bell/rogers has more suscribers cancel and suscribe to a provider that has there own backbone like teksavvy. (not just anouther bell reseller)

don't give me this excuse that its not available if bell sells dsl internet in your area you can get anouther dsl provider because its setup!
I setup a lot of accounts and noticed a increase in home networks if I spoof the users mac address on the router they use.
I figure the equipment sold to bell or the cable companies automatically slows the router traffic mac address. Just something that's pretty obvious and did not see mentioned anyway and it has to be mentioned.
In fact a business cable provider in aurora tech support don't seem to be aware that when the routers mac address is used it blocks and drops traffic for port 59xx (I tried numerous ports) I pretty much gave up calling them then I spoofed the mac and everything was fine.. though tech support was unable to help me and still claim they do not block nothing and that it was on my end..
yah I make videos and release them to my friends on bittorrent and some times they are huge even after I compress them down.. so what.. and a apt-get upgrade if you have not done one in a month is usually pretty hefty amount of data too.. might not be bitttorrent but its big.. and voip can use 80kb/s using g711 (Ulaw/Alaw) codec (freeworlddialup.com
with all the video sites.. man..
