When was the last time you saw an AMD commercial on TV? Compare that with the Blue Man Group ads for the Pentium 4 that intel runs just about every hour on every channel.

I think what bothers me most about that Blue Man Group isn't that it's on every five minutes, the fact that they're ugly as hell and even more annoying, but that they have to actually flash the name "Blue Man Group" at the upper corner of the screen at the beginning of every commercial so that everybody will know what to call them. Pphhhhht...Marketing...

  2. phenomenal growth? on US States Vote 26-0 To Move Towards Taxing Non-State Sales · · Score: 1

According to my marketing professor, The gross sales of all Internet sales over a year pretty much amounts to the gross sales of Walmart over a 3 day period.
And if the Internet sales are growing so phenomenally why are so many of the Internet superstores going out of business?
Now that the insane discounts and coupons have been irradicated after these businesses have finally realized that they are subject to the same laws of business that their brick and mortar counterparts are bound by, what are the benefits of ordering online? Sure there's the benefit of being able to get something on there that you can't find locally, and being forced to live in the rural south that fact is certainly not lost on me. But otherwise? You have to pay fairly large shipping costs which usually make the price equal to what you would have to pay locally. And if you add tax to that...
I guess we'll see Internet retail shrink if these taxes are applied, which only goes to show that politician's have their heads up their collective asses. But I don't guess that's news to anyone.

If you're willing to spend $20 bucks you could just head on over to www.apogee1.com. That's what it costs for episodes 1-5. Episode 6 is abandonware though. Good luck finding that one anywhere but a warez site.

I guess you missed the game "Starship Titanic" that he put out in 1998. It has its own website at www.starshiptitanic.com.

It's been going around on the alt.fan.douglas-adams newsgroup for a while that he said that "Salmon of Doubt" was turning out to be more in the style of Hhgttg, so he was changing it into a sequel in that series and not the Dirk Gently series. Also that it was partially on hold while he was working on the script for a Hhgttg movie with director Jay Roach of "Austin Powers" fame.

If there is ever to be a sequel to Commander Keen, which I'm keenly (bad pun, sorry) looking forward
to as well, it won't be coming from id. Commander Keen is the property of Tom Hall (I believe that's
his name), formerly of id software. Where is he now you ask? He's working for Ion Storm. Kind of
    ironic I thought.
