  1. Memories... on D&D 4th Edition Game System License Announced · · Score: 5, Funny

Fantastic, I can brush off those old wizard outfits, dust off the pointy hat, and break out into a fresh era of uber-geekiness all over - but only if I make my save roll vs RL Self-Respect

  2. My pet love/hate for botnets on Storm Dismantled at USENIX LEET Workshop · · Score: 5, Insightful

I hate spam and what botnets do as much as the next fellow, to the point where I stopped checking email on a regular basis from a few accounts due to the insane amounts of spam I got, but I still have to admire the sheer beauty and audacity of putting together such a living thing. If only they could find a useful (even semi-legit) purpose for harnessing so much computing power.

  3. Beware the politician with "freedom" as an agenda on AU Government Demands Universal Wiretapping · · Score: 1

I love how "freedom" and "anti-terrorism" are the new trademark things being fought for whenever the governments bolster their own power and authority. I wonder if that is the case in countries such as China and the like where the government is already insanely powerful - do you hear the Chinese ministers making announcements such as "We are going to mobilize the army and arrest these protesters because they are all threats to the freedoms of the Chinese people."

  4. Re:What's the deal with Australia the last few yea on AU Government Demands Universal Wiretapping · · Score: 2, Insightful

It's not a big power grab, it's the influence of America and it's policies that is hurtling us down this path - rather sadly at that.

  5. Sinister translation: on Nuked Coral Reef Bounces Back · · Score: 4, Insightful

REAlly, I think it proves that after we screw things up royally on this planet to the point where we are no longer able to live on it, it won't take the earth too long to bounce back and thrive once more. Hopefully the next set of inhabitants on this planet will look after it better than we do.

  6. Cheaper Solution on Software to Randomize Police Operations at LAX · · Score: 1

The cheaper solution would be to hire very poor management. Their useless attempts at putting in some sort of order may well seem utterly random to the outside world.

  7. One day... on New Spam Site Found Every Three Seconds · · Score: 2, Interesting

First it was their entry into Eurovision, now they are getting up there in the Spam stakes... what next Turkey? What next?
